I'm not sure. But I know some remote starter only run for awhile the shut down.. It also could be the distributor module. When it gets warm it shuts down your engine.. I hoped this helped a little.

I am pretty sure it is an intake manifold leak.. you can check this by spraying carb cleaner toward the manifold gasket area while at idle. If the sound of the idle changes at all, it is definately a manifold leak.. GOOD LUCK!! Plz rate me, k? THANKS. lucky4lynn2 :)

2004 Chevy Malibu-issue with doors locking and unlocking by themselves. Reset battery and doors are working now except for door locks on passenger side you cannot manually unlock doors? New issue is...

Hi Shannon,

My guess is that something is shorting in the lock control circuit. Sounds to me that your passenger locks are constantly energized in the lock position, causing the battery drain.
This is likely not involving the computer. A good electrical guy can find it pretty quick. Meanwhile, envision that you have little electromagnets energized and hot. These would drain the battery fast. Disconnect negative when not using the car.
Consider unplugging the lock slaves inside the doors until you get a chance to get in at a shop. By slave I mean the actuator that is energized, inside each door.

Alarm on 2004 kia spectra wont let me start car

If the alarm is aftermarket I would remove it , I see this problem several times a month , take a test light and test for power at the starter signal wire while someone turns the key to crank this is the small gauge wire going into starter,if there is no power at this wire it will not crank ,if you momentarily apply voltage to the starter signal wire it will crank( also check starter signal fuse)(most alarm systems have a starter interrupt system ,and the aftermarket alarms fail after a few years) Alot of people believe there alarm is factory because it was there when they bought it new but dealer do add alarms that are aftermarket to please there insurance companies

Maybe it's the anti-theft system an not the remote start . Is the SECURITY light lit on the instrument cluster ? GM anti-theft systems will disable the fuel injectors if there is a problem .

You said a would not start but you didn't say if it would crank. if it does not crank it sounds like it might be a bad battery. Dirty battery terminals, or if there's an alarm on the car that could be a problem. When it cools down if it starts to crank again that sounds like it might be the battery. But if it does crank pour some gas down the throttle body. If it starts and dies out you have a fuel problem. If it does not start you probably have a problem with your ignition system or power going to it. Good luck.

Battery is being drained by something, its new

2 things, not enought cold cranking amps, or while you where trying to start the car the brushs inside the starter caused a ark on the armature causing the starter not to be working at 100% option 1 have a drain test done or 2 replace the starter the drain test will show how much amps its taking to spin the starter if its pulling a high amount of amps/votage to spin the start then replace starter

Hello. If you have a FACTORY alarm system, the deactivte prodedure is to cycle the key off-on (not to start) 5 times, in the ignition. This feature is provided in case you lose the remote, or the remote battery goes dead.

Note: this will only work with the Factory system. If you have an aftermarket system, this answer will no benefit you.

Saturn won't start/ key problems

You need to program the system,it's probally in theft deterrent mode & disables the starter. To program your new remote locate the diagnostic connector under the drivers side of dash.To program the new remote Jumper a paper clip between the #4 & #8 terminal you will hear the locks cycle & the trunk will pop. While the terminalsv are jumped hold down lock & Unlock on the remote at the same time until you hear the locks cycle again, remove the jumper wire or paper clip & you should be good.

Won't start after cleaning battery terminals

Sounds like you have an aftermarket alarm with starter disable. By disconnecting the battery the alarm reset and the defualt setting is usually to set the alarm automatically (active arming). You have three options..
A. If you have the key fob that went with the alarm you can disarm the alarm.
B. If no key fob is available you can disconnect the battery again, turn the ignition key to the on position and reconnect the battery. This usually doesn't allow the alarm to set and allows the car to start.
C. Remove the aftermarket alarm system. This is usually the long term fix i recommend if the fob isn't available. Option B should get you going though.

My car alarm is blinking but the remote doesn't work. I already replaced the battery to the remote so I know that's not the problem. If I open the car the alarm goes off and doesn't allow me to start the...

You need to first look under the drivers side dash area near the hood release/fuse panel area and see if there is a valet switch. The switch will look like a little toggle or a push switch. After you locate it, turn the ignition switch to the on position(dont start it) and flick the valet to the opposite position it is in now. If done correctly in most cases the red system light will stay a constant instead of off or blinking indicating you are in valet mode. Next try to start the engine. If this doesnt work you need to remove the alarm system and repair the ignition switch wiring or replace the electrical portion of the ignition switch. The aftermarket alarm cuts into the ignition switch wires and bypasses the start circuit through the alarm module. When disarmed the alarm completes the circuit and allows the car to start. Good luck hope this helps and please rate this.
