Hi
I have a 2004 trail Blazer. My odometer and Spedometer start to slow down and then all of a sudden you look up and I am going negative RPMs and Negative MPH while cruising down the highway. Or the next time it will go fast than I am traveling. Each mornig though it starts out working correctly, then after about an hour it goes off again. Once it goes off it stays off till the car has been shut down over night. What causes this how can I fix them.

This sounds like a problem in the dash cluster itself. Have many problems with what are called "Stepper Motors" in the dash that control the gauges. Would need to remove it and send it out for repairs, or have it replaced with a new or refurbished unit.

I had the same issue with my 2005 Trailblazer and it ended up being the stepper motors in the instrument cluster. Go to this website and he will take care of you. You ship it to him (it was located in KY) He will fix everything on the cluster (broken or not) for $125, it is VERY reasonable and I spoke with the guy on the phone and he is extremely nice and professional to deal with.http://www.kincerservice.com/
