The BECM will retain the EKA code, so , charge or replace the battery. Close all doors, windows bonnet etc, then try the EKA code. You must know, that if you enter the incorrect code or do not enter the code correctly by returning the key to the centre position after each turn of the key , more than 3 times, then the system will lock out and you will have to wait 30 minutes to retry. It should start , but it would be good to get another remote handset, Hope that helps

As i said, lock the vehicle down and try the EKA .If you have been starting the car previously using the EKA, then you obviously know how to do it. Remember, if the code was entered incorrectly 3 times, you will have to wait at least 30 minutes for the system to allow you to try again. If you still cannot reset the system , then you will have to get the car to the dealer to check, where the fault lies.

Range rover p38 problems

I have the same problem sometimes
1 Check the condition of your battery, if old, it will not give full power required to communicate with the security system.
2 If you don't have the EKA of your RR, try this next time you get caught, put key in the drivers door look, press unlock button on key fob and at the same time turn to unlock, if all locks unlock then the engine should not be immobilized - Good luck

Hi key wont start my r rover 2001 p38 with dealer at moment and they say it is a electrical fault and fuel won't go to engine ..any idea what to do ..all key codes have been tried.. Help

What model rover ?? these cars have a pecular trait and that is if the key is left in with ignition on for more than 30 secs then immobilisor comes on and can only be released with the fob by locking and unlocking the car with the fob ,If no parts available then in a box somewhere i have all the computer /transponder ,key ,fob and the key code number as well for a 99 rover 400 which i can post to you .Although in the past i have by-passed the immobilisor by bridging a big transistor collector and emmiter connections same as i have done with a escort and a focus as well ,the dammed renaults you get it started then cut the third wire on the transponder while its running .But this isnt helping you ,use the FOB and make sure the key has a chip in it and it hasnt lost the chip

Battery went flat now wont take key code in drivers door 1994 p38 range rover.did some engine work battery disconected for about a week. when engine work finished.conected batery started fine. went...

key code lock out usually happens when you have entered the wrong code too many times leaving the battery connected should allow the timer to run down for 30 mins so you can try again, it is cumulative though so the more you get it wrong the longer you have to wait. make sure battery is fully charged first.
