Stopped while driving cranks but won,t start replaced spark plugs and wires old plugs smelled like gasoline

"Old plugs smelled". Likely no spark. Coil packs, distributor, points (if your car has points), etc. If you share your car make/model/year/engine, somebody might have one and know where to look. Without that info, I can only guess.

Rough idle smell after stopped running

If you have a strong gasoline smell, get that car into a mechanic ASAP. Forget fooling around trying to discover the problem yourself. Gas explodes, right? You already have a strong smell. That means that somewhere down the fuel system line there is an active leak and that is dangerous. The fact you have to post here means you don't know anything about a car, so stop messing around with a potential lethal problem. I am an old alley mechanic from wayyyyy back and am speaking from experience.

Car running rough at random when accelerating and also idle drops suddenly when slowing down and often completely stalls out when I stop. Smells strongly of gasoline when it stalls/almost stalls but I

This could be a lot of things. one of the tests that you need to run is shift it into nuetral when you are stopping and see if it still drops RPM and wants to stall. This will eliminate or conclude that it is a transmission issue. If it is still doing this then it could be a vacuum leak or fuel delivery issue.

Gasoline smell when engine cold and driving downhill

Your 1993 911 has electronic fuel injection. When the engine is cold, it automatically richens the fuel mixture. This is the equivalent of closing the choke on an old car or tractor with a carburetor. When the car is going down hill, the car is not burning this excess fuel. You are smelling it coming from the exhaust. Once the car warms up, the engine computer automatically leans out the fuel mixture, essentially turning off the choke. Now you don't smell the fuel.

Gas odor when at stops sign or parking in garage

I recently had the same problem. It turned out that the fuel regulator on the engine at the left side just above the intake manifold had an intermitent leak. The gas leaking was not always visible so I had the regulator changed and that solved the problem.

Smells like gasoline in car when it's in idol

Check entire fuel system for leaks 99% of time wen you smell GAS.... there is a leak. So be very careful. Gasoline leaks can be very dangerous. If you had a tune up lately or changed a fuel filter that can be your problem because they are metal line then can be left loose accidentally. Check all fuel lines from fuel thank towards the engine compartment and you should be able to locate source of the smell. Good Luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA
