Where else do you have locks? A locking glove compartment often has a separate key. The main key is supposed to open the door, open the trunk and start the vehicle. The other key is a Valet Key, the key is intended for people to give to valets to park their cars or to repair shops to use. The valet key will open the car door and start the car but will prevent someone from unlocking the glove box or the trunk.
flat battery in the fob
broken power wire between the door hinges
faulty door lock actuators
faulty master control switches
or faulty door switches at the doors

Your vehicle comes with two kinds of keys: a master key and a valet key.
The master key fits all the locks on your car:
Ignition
Doors
Trunk
Trunk release handle
Rear seat trunk access
The valet key works only in the ignition and the door locks. You can keep the trunk, trunk release handle and rear seat trunk access locked when you leave your car and valet key at a parking facility.
You should have received a key number plate with your set of keys. You will need this key number if you ever have to get a lost key replaced. Keep the plate stored in a safe place. When replacing keys, use only Honda-approved key blanks.
There are many hardware stores that have Honda key blanks and can make a key if you have a working one.If not, a Honda dealership can get you a key (expensive) for your vehicle if what is left of your key has the small serial number still on it.Additionally, they might be able to get one based on the VIN number of your car.
