How do i unlock my 01 gmc factory radio ???? - 2004 GMC Sierra 2500

    GM DELCO THEFTLOCK RADIO UNLOCK info:

    1. Press and hold presets 2 and 3 for about 5 to 10 seconds until you
    get 3 digits on your display. This is the first 3 of 6 digits you
    will need, so write 'em down.

    2. After doing step one and writing down the code, immediately press the
    AM/FM button to get the last 3 of the 6 numbers you'll need, and
    write 'em down. (if you wait too long between steps 1 and 2 and the LOC code
    displays again, just start over).

    3. Call this number: 1-800-537-5140. It's a prerecorded message.
    The voice will ask if you're calling for Chevy, Pontiac, Cadillac, etc... When you here him tell you
    to press "2" for Pontiac, press 206010 and hit the # key. He'll ask
    you for the 6 digit code that you've written down. Enter that and press
    the * key. He will then give you a code, and the option to get
    additional 4 digit codes, but one should be sufficient.

    4. Follow the normal procedure in your owners manual for unlocking the
    radio with your new code...press the hour set button on your radio
    until you get the first two numbers of the code, then press the minute set
    button until you've entered the last two numbers. Immediately press
    the AM/FM button once the correct code is entered and the code SEC or
    "secured" will be displayed on the display screen. Now, just turn the
    radio on, and your ready to roll.

    There is an additional step you can take to remove all codes from the
    radio and start from scratch by entering your own personalized 4 digit
    code so that it won't get you in a jamb again. Just repeat step 4 and
    you should get a display screen that reads "---". This means the code is
    out, and you can now program your own code.

    Of course, once you receive the 4 digit code from the GM recorded
    message, just keep it in a safe place, because you can use that same
    code again and again should you have any more problems with it in the
    future.

    Note this only applies if the radio displays the "LOC" message. If it's
    blank then there's either no power to it or the head unit is defective.

    * The radio must be in LOC mode NOT in INOP mode.
    * Turn the ignition ON (The radio displays LOC).
    * Press and hold presets buttons 2 & 3 or 1 & 4 for approximately 10 seconds.
    * The radio display changes from LOC to a three-digit number.
    * Write this number down.
    * You will then have fifteen seconds max before the next step must be performed.
    * Press the AM/FM button.
    * The radio display changes to another three-digit number.
    * Write this number to the right of the first one.
    * You now have a six or four-digit number, the first three digits are from STEP 3 and the last three digits are from STEP 5.
    * If you have a four digit number, it will show all four digits at the same time.
    * Example 4523.

    If you have a rds radio the 1&2 of 3&4 presets wont work it has
    to be hooked up to a hand held computer (tech2) at the dealer. It should say
    rds on the face of the radio near the display .

    If not you have to hold the pre-set buttons for a few seconds it had a
    situation that it wouldn't work unless the vehicle was running. If you can get the code write it down

    call 1800-537-5140 when the recording begins
    press 106010 then * it will ask for your code
    enter your code followed by *

    It will give you your unlock code.

    Should be able to access by pressing the minute button then 000 should appear.
    Press the minute again to make the last two digits to your code # then
    press the Hour button to make the first digits match your code.
    After you entered you code press AM-FM and if done right SEC or something should be displayed.

    This all has to be done with out more then 15 sec between steps. Also if you fail 8x entering the code, INOP will appear and you'll need to leave the key on for a hour to reset and try again. The following instructions will allow you to reset any GM (General

Hey needed wiring diag. for radio $ AC with all white wire

$ , and AC? and what is all white.
first off what are you doing, we dont know,
1: factory 01 radio for 01 swap?
2 factory 01 for 2010 swap factory?
3: after market to stock 01 harness?
but if #3 , which i suspect, then this is in the FSM read that.
or login to alldata.com
or go to walfart or any store that sells this (auto) and get
the factory harness kit, for your car, this has a real factory
connector on one end and wires to your new aftermarket radio.
this is best, and far better than hacking up any car harness.

I jumped my 2005 denail and the radio has never came back on. Its been over a month so its not the alternator or battery. Is there something i have to reset?

if it is a factory radio (head unit) i believe you need a code to unlock it. its something the auto companies started doing awhile back so when someone stole your radio they could not unlock it to resell it.

Just changed radio on my 01 Yukon XL and now the speedometer doesn't work

Double check your wiring on the radio. The factory radio has a wire that comes from the vehicle speed sensor. When you speed up, the radio gets louder. When you slow down the radio gets quieter. That wire may go into the radio and then to the speedo depending on how the vehicle is wired. You may have to connect that wire to another (check wiring diagram). Another thought is that you accidentally hooked that wire up to something wrong and it blew a fuse. Good luck
