The oil pressure should be 60 to 65 psi when engine started cold and at operating temperature should be 40 to 50 PSI at idle and 45 to 60 at higher RPM's with engine at operating temperature. Low pressure could be a faulty oil pressure sending unit or a bad oil pressure regulator valve. Good luck and hope this helps, and you could always have your oil pressure check manually to ensure a correct pressure reading. If you think it could be the oil pressure relief valve (Sometimes) or the check valve (not very often). One is located inside the oil pump and the other in the adapter on the motor that the filter screws on to. If you also have a problem with the oil pressure being erratic when the motor has been running I would be looking at the valves.
