The gears are not moving when the car is in park, therefore, no noise from the trans.. it is coming from somewhere else. quite possibly, it's the starter motor is continuing to spin. have someone listen under the hood while starting. if it is the starter, the noise will be more prominent when listening from under the hood. how long does the noise last?

Testimonial: "The noise lasts till the engine idles at about 1200rpm. So about 30 seconds, and only when engine is cold. Thanks for help!"

Mcdevito75 here, Not really directly with the transmission itself, no. The loud whinning you hear at start up could be the transmissions Torque converter, however I'm thinking toward the serpentine belt or other drive belt,s on the engine, specially if none of the drive belts, Alternator, A/C compressor, Power steering Belts Haven"t been changed in 2 years, Have your Local repair shop take a look for you.

02 Lincoln V6. Very high idle at start up, put engine under any load it hesitates and acts like the transmission is in neutral. High idle remains. MAF or ICV? Thanks

Have you tested the engine and transmission control module (PCM) for fault codes? If not do that first. A MAF will not cause a high idle, that would be either a engine vacuum leak or a sticking IAC (idle air control valve) or a warped throttle valve bore. If the transmission feels like "it is in neutral" then you have big problems, please elaborate on this transmission issue. Also let me know what kind of work has been done to try and find the cause of the problems you are having if anything.

Wining sound when starting but when engine warms up it stops

This has so many variables...is the serpentine belt the original? It can be hardened with age, quiets when warmed up...could be tensioner pulley, this noise could come and go however...also is your weather very cold? If equipped with an automatic transmission, the age can exhibit unique cold sounds...if tranny never serviced, add a bottle of Lucas Oil Transmission Stabilizer to tranny fluid...read instructions, you do not have to drain anything...This is highly recommended for cleaning tranny. Hope this helps.

Wining high pitch and clicking in left front driver side

The cv is probably shot. Just have it replaced.Once the boot is broken, the grease slings out the bearings inside dry out and will bind up and break.

2001 oldsmobile Intrigue is making a high pitched wine when I excelarete and rpm meter is showing higher than before

this could be one of a few problems.
1 it could be that your belt or one of the pullies is going out.
2 it also it could be the transmission. with the rpm's going up with the wine i would check the transmission fluid. this sounds like it could be low on fluid.

if you need further help with this issue please advise me and i would be glad to help you further.
