Burning oil huge cloud of smoke,120d.almost all the time over the last few days.when cruising at 50/60 seems clear..can smell oil when you get out of the car,the engine seems to be running fine,no faultering,turbo kicks in fine.when pulling away there is a smoke cloud like a jenie has appeared..

well, it needs service, clear as day,
we can't really guess, all problems with ,Wankel spark or fueling
but guess bad fuel. or leaking fuel or worse bad engine,
apex seals?
smog is black or white, if white is smoke smells like burning oil
slow to dissipated, or fast like steam as in Antifreeze nasty sweet smell in the air, ????
be more clear no smoke. where and smell and color

Leaky injector

Valve seals. When you shut the car off overnight, the oil leaks past the seals into the cylinders. When you start it, it burns that oil and smokes for a minute( actually it smoke all the time, just not as bad at startup).

tail smoke has 2 types,. oil and steam.
1: steam smells sweet(glycol) and goes away fast.
2: oil smoke, smells like burnt oil and takes a vary long time to go byebye.

all cars burning gasoline make water (H2O) as a byproduct, of combustion the seems to go away on a hot day.
but really does not, it just seems to.
on a cold day all cars make steam
if yours is and your neighbors car dont at the SAME time (out door temps same) then your steam is wrong. a bad sign of bad head gasket or far far worse , a cracked head.
did you do the pre fall service, and check antifreeze protection levels.
a $2 tool that save cracked engine blocks.

When engine get a lot of miles on them the seals get hard and bridle and allows oil you slip by and it goes out the exhaust in at cloud of smoke. Here's a way to see if it is you "Valve Seals". When your driving it usually clears up and you have no smoke. Here's what you need to do after driving the car and it has cleared up, pull into a parking lot and let it sit and idle for 3 minutes. If a cloud of smoke comes out of the tailpipe when you take off, then you have bad "Valve Seals" and they will need to be replaced. Hope this helps and have an awesome day Joseph.

Sounds like you may have a huge oil leak, this is a common problem if the chain is not done correctly on the chevy V6 or V8 engine. Go under and look, bet oil is all over the place and getting on the exhaust.

is it to full on oil that would do it or is it really steam mabe your head gasket is going out

What color is the smoke? if it is blue or grey in color and smells like burning oil then it is oil. If it is light white then it is just condensation and nothing to worry about. But if it is extremely white and smells very sweet then it is coolant.

The more likely symptom for white smoke from exhaust is piston rings are worn out . Due to this there might be oil leakage and engine oil which is meant for engine lubrication might have entered the combustion chamber. Burning of engine oil produces white smoke. You should quickly change the piston rings as if you ignore this problem this can cause engine mal-functioning
