You need to remove all of the rust, then a coating, you get spray cans in all colors from a Hardware store, buy the ones which are a bit heat-resistant, trying masking the fender slightly with a paper tape , spray the quick drying automotive spray.

Anti rust for cars, dont they treat the Wheel-Hubs? is wheelhub rust a common problem? my car is only 2 months new

wheel hubs are cast steel and are not rust treated. The rust may be from driving on snow/ice roads that have had salt on them. There is not much that can be done .You can trying a rust control agent ( phosphoric acid) which can be bought concentrated or in diluted form in rust prevention undercoats. You could then try using a good rust control paint that will withstand a lot of heat (remember that the brakes make everything hot)
If you can find an electro-plater in your area you may get the hubs cadmium plated or zink plated and this will arrest the rust.

How can I help clean the rust from the bottom of my ford windstar 2003?

Scrape off the rust, using a wire brush or scrubbing pad. This technique removes small rust. GM MDI
Apply a rust remover, using a steel wool pad or paper towel. Rub the rust remover into the rust.
Wait 10 minutes for the rust remover to work. Most rust removers contain hydrochloric acid, oxalic acid or other strong acids that dissolve rust.
Clean away the rust remover and the rust with paper towels. Dampen a paper towel, and wipe the areas, again.
Paint on a primer with a paint brush. Let the primer dry. The automotive primers offer protection against rust.
Use touch-up paint that is the same color as the Ford Galaxie. Apply it to all areas that are missing paint. Let the paint dry, before driving the car.

There is considerable rust (3 inches across and 4 inches high) on the rear quarter panels right above the wheels on a 1995 suzuki swift I am looking at, how much would it cost to repair this?

Seems to be quite a lot of rust there. It is better to get a rear wing panel from yard junk and pay for the painting. This way you probably looking at about $300 to $400.

What holds the front rotor on the spindle. i took the front tire off to change the brakes and the front rotor is slides right off. does the tire hold the rotor on with the lug nuts??

Normal 0 If you take off the caliper, than you can take off the rotor too. You are right. Are the Lug Nuts that tight the rotor but there is a trick.
The surface of the rotor in contact with wheel mounting face must be clean. Any rust or dirt on this part of the rotor can result in a loose wheel. So make sure that this surface is clean, and if rust is there you need to send carefully this surface with a disk sender with low PRM. In some case this part of rotor is painted read or black with high temperature paint.
Make sure to thread lug nuts by hand first. A drop of oil per stud, sometimes prevent the freezing of the lug nut but the torque will be decreased. Torque first all 25 ft/lb, after 50 and last around 70 ft/lb. Consult the owner manual. After 100 - 150 miles re torque. If the wheel goes loose the most common cause is dirt over the rotor, a bended wheel , or pure balancing, or anything that may cause vibrations.

A deep rust spot through teh top of the front window frame What is the best and least costly repair for this considerig it is a 1991 model?

I would just use silicone on it, clean it as best as you can and sand it so the silicone will stick you could use a two part epoxy but epoxy gets hard and won't flex causing it to break when the top expands with air being hot and cold. Once the rust starts it's hard to stop, you can buy some Navel Jelly it's a rust inhibitor that will turn rust to a dark color then can be cleaned and painted over and if you want to paint it afterwords you can get the matching paint at Toyota dealer cost about $10.00 for the touch up paint. Hope this helps.

I have a deep scratch in one of my doors on my Buick. I bought the touch up paint but I'm not exactly sure how to apply it. I have used touch up paint many other times with many cars and it always seemed...

if you are using a mere touch up kit ..i would recommend for about 15-30 cents buying a model paint brush the bristles are much smaller than what comes in the bottle and no you wont need to sand it at all after application it will look very dull but put it on and allow it to simply apply to the scratch only ....unless you know someone in the paint dept...and ask for a bit of clear to mix into the paint it will look dull upon finish

if you are good at airbrush i would suggest merely filling the scratch in just as i described earlier ...unless you are going to actually paint the entire area then your talking blending into either the adjacent areas or merely blending into the area around the scratch ...what ever way you look at it touch up paint will always look dull upon finish

2006 sonata has small chip in paint. just noticed some rust starting. what do i do to fix this?

sand it down with some fin grit sand paper, apply a slight coat of rustolium, masking off the area with masking tape, so you dont create a larger area. Then ge touch up paint from your local dealer, some thinner and a refilable pray can, thin the touch up paint with the thinner in a 2 part paint to one part thinner ratio and spay a few coats on, should work.

1994 acura integra--Paint job.

Surface rust can be worse than it appears so then in that case, the bad spots will have to be cut out and new metal welded in its place. (Look at the rust from underside of the panel--moisture gets there and rusts from the inside out) Paint chips can be sanded down. As far as a quote, here in southeast Missouri ...it would be $1600-$1700 for a full body paint job.
