2000 E-350 V-10. Never got a check engine light, but had a big exhaust leak before the cat converter. I fixed the exhaust leak and after about 2 miles get a check engine light. Right after light comes on engine looses power and runs like ****. Next day check code with engine off, key in run position = no code, engine on = no code. Drive 1-2 miles engine runs bad, check code = P0174. Same all the time. Code only appears after 1-2 miles. I cleaned Mass Flow Sensor, replaced Oxygen sensor, fuel filter, checked fuel pressure. Checked for vac leaks with propane. nothing. I never had this issue before I fixed the exhaust. if fact right before I fixed the exhaust went on a 300 mile trip and it ran great except for the exhaust leak. Could this be a clogged cat converter on that side? Or other possible causes? Its always a P0174 and never have got a P0171.
The cars runs fine with no problem. I don't ant to buy the catalyst until I'm sure is that. what other things can cause that?The cars runs fine with no problem. I don't ant to buy the catalyst until I'm sure is that. what other things can cause that?

Before I even finished reading this i knew you had a clogged cat. If you have fixed everything you mentioned i would lean towards a clogged cat. This is a large reason this code pops up.
To check this you could pull that cat out and drive around and see if the code comes back, make sure to stay away from the police though.

code p 0133 is the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)1 bank 1 so response --no response or--no signal=== causes wiring--heating inoperative---HO2S -- o2 sensor ( oxygen sensor
the HO2S is in the exhaust manifold before the cat converter and the O2 sensor is after the cat converter
the code p 2096also refers to the HO2S --wiring short to positive --cat converter--exhaust leak ( possible the flex section in the exhaust pipe before the cat converter
code p 0171 refers to system too lean bank 1===causes --intake /exhaust leak---AIR system---MAF/VAF sensor---fuel pressure/pump---injector/s---HO2S
In this case I would suspect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S)
then check fro a cracked flex section in the exhaust before the cat converter
code p 0174 refers to system too lean bank 2---causes intake /exhaust leak--fuel pressure/pump---injector/s---AIR system---hose connection/s
code p 0302 is a misfire on no 2 cylinder
check that the plug lead is on properly, that the lead is operational
move the injector from 2 to another cylinder and see if the misfire follows the move
code p 0174 refers to system too lean bank 2===causes intake /exhaust leak---fuel pressure / pump---injector/s--AIR system--hose connection/s
code p 0171 refers to system too lean bank 1=== causes intake /exhaust leak---AIR system---MAF/VAF sensors---fuel pressure / pump---injector/s -- HO2S
You stated that you replaced the O2 sensor but that is different to the HO2S sensor , does a different job and controls the air/fuel mixture from the ECM
because it has banks 1 and 2 it is a v engine and you will have a HO2S in the exhaust manifold or before the cat converter for each exhaust
O2 sensors are after the cat converter and confirm the HO2S settings for the ECM
to put the lights out , use a scan tool to reset the ECM
code p0171 refers to system to lean bank 1==causes intake /exhaust leak--AIR system--MAP/MAF sensor--fuel pressure/pump--injectors--HO2s Have a fuel pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check for blocked filter/faulty pump/fuel pressure regulator faults code p0174 refers to system to lean bank 2 --same causes including hose connection/s code p0420 refers to catalytic converter system -bank 1 efficiency below threshold==causes catalytic converter--wiring--HO23. Check the cat converter is not cracked inside and the oxygen sensor is working.
code p0171 refers to system too lean bank 1 causes---intake exhaust leak--- AIR system----MAF?VAF sensor fuel pressure/ pump injectors HO2S code p0174 refers to System to lean bank 2 causes the same except Maf and vaf are not mentioned and hose connections are added code p0316 refers to misfire detected at star up first 1000 revs causes ---engine mechanicval fault---wiring---ignition/ fuel system--injector code p0430 refers to cat convertersystem bank 2-- effeciency below threshold causes ----cat converter--- wiring ----HO2S. Personally I would chewck the cat converter first as if it is blocking the exhaust system the ret of the sensors will have irregular readings.
P0137 o2 circuit low voltage bank 1 sensor 2 --o2 sensor after the cat converter -check for faulty o2 sensor -short or open circuit exhaust leak near sensor or plugged cat converter ----P0171 and P0174 -system too lean bank 1--and system too lean bank 2 they are usually from the same problem which can be caused from the o2 problem but check ur maf sensor connections and or clean if necessary[carb cleaner] vacuum leak downstream from maf sensor also inspect pcv lines
check o2 sensor rear of cat/ converter for short ,damaged wires or faulty sensor--if exhaust leak repair leak or cat/converter plugging up or restricted
you have a cloged cat converter, or an exhaust leak near the manifold... if you rev it at idle and it sounds loud check under car for loudness, if your driving and your going about 30 and it sounds like 90, its the cat converter, replace is the only fix for converters
The cars runs fine with no problem. I don't ant to buy the catalyst until I'm sure is that. what other things can cause that?
