No power I ran out of gas a few days ago. Now the car has no power.It will get up to 5 to 10 miles an hour.

Sounds like an electrical problem. Check or replace your "coil".

I suggest a tune-up.

It sounds like a sensor is intermittantly loosing the data stream. Since the engine light came on, I would go to a reputable shop and have them check for codes. Many auto parts stores will do this as well and sometimes for free. Can't beet free. If I were to guess I would say something like the camshaft postion sensor is going bad, Or the crankshaft postion sensor, Or something like that. The code will tell which one it is.

Are you not getting a check engine light ? Take your suv to auto zone and get them to check it for codes and post the codes I will check back later to see what codes you posted they will help in finding the problem. Thank you

THE STARTER IS GOING BAD

you need to check your fuel pressure

the alarm is activating when he locks it and for some reason the key or fob isnt deactivating it..check the disarm switches in the door

seems like an air-locked gas tank (remove gas cap as a test) or dirty fuel filter....
