Have checked or changed plugs, wires, coils, ignition module, fuel pump, fuel pressures, injectors, catalytic converter, o2 sensors, grounds.. code reader throws o2 sensor code and occasionally a multi misfire. Check engine light comes off and on no ryhme or reason.. Please any help can't keep replacing everything and can't buy new... Thank you

I have a 2003 Pontiac grand prix...I've lost power, it won't go over 30mph, it doesn't shift thru the gears smoothly. The service engine soon light goes off and on, more so when I'm trying to gas it. Its seems as tho it's 'being choked'...like not getting gas or air. So far, I've flushed the ******, changed the plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter. I suspect the problem is a clogged cat convertor. I've been told that the exhaust can be opened a little near the cat to allow air to flow in....that should confirm if the problem is the Cat or not. I'm testing that theory today.

Look a round the injectors for wet or damp spots(bad seals)...my 3800 was sucking air around seals causing it to run rich and throw codes for misfires and 02 sensors

My 1998 grand prix with a non supercharged 3800 engine with a 150000 miles on it has been running great.my wife went to drive the car and it was running rough.i came home and removed all the spark plugs...

fuel pressure regulator diaphram may have failed. The regulator is at the end of the fuel rail on top of the engine. Pull vacuum hose off regulator and see if it has gas in it. If yes, replace regulator. Let me know if you have more questions or if this isn't the problem.

What kind of motor does a Pontiac Grand Prix have?

Depends on what sub-model you have. If you have an SE its a 3100 3.1L Engine. If its a GT its a 3800 3.8L Engine. If its a GTP its a 3800 3.8L but with a supercharger.

Squeal under hood 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix GT (3.8 L)

I would start with a belt. While removing it feel how much tension the tensioner has on it, on the 3800 egnine they have a stiff tensioner(sorry I don't have any specs for how much) After you get the belt off you can look at all of the pulleys and spin them to see if the bind or look for stuff stuck in the grooves on the pulleys.
It sounds to me like the belt is streched. I would not recommend one of those gator back belts, they seem to make more noise sooner than a good v notch belt. But thats just my opinion!

2005 Pontiac grand prix 3.8 doesn't start

Try this: Turn ignition on for AT LEAST 10 minutes without doing anything else. After 10 minutes, turn the key to start, thre is a good chance of it running. Long explanation, but it has to do with the PassLock security system futzing up.
