How to reset oil guage after changing oil on pontiac G5

A Pontiac g5 calls for 5w30. basicly 5 it the thickness of the oil the 30 is the lube value. so 5w20 is the the same thickness but will not lube or protect the engine.

The fan should not run when the engine is cold it should only run when the engine comes to a middle guage of heat
get the radiator checked for the clotting

Turn the key to the "on" position with the engine "off". Then step on the gas pedal to the floor 3 times.

its in the manuel on how to do it. go by that untill it works or go by firestone they will help for free

look and see if you blew a fuse if not you'll have to remove the cluster and make sure it is plugged in if all this is right the cluster is possibly bad it happens.

turn key to on, do not start, press gas peddle to the floor 3 times quickly, should reset then

Hi does your car have a DIC there will be 2 buttons on the left side of the steering wheel spoke if so scroll though the menu once you get to oil life percent push and hold the button with the arrow then it will read oil life 100% ( it takes a bout 3- 5 sec to reset)

If you do not have a DIC then turn the key to on WITHOUT engine running and press the gas peddal to the floor 3 times FAST the oil life light will flash then go out

When you push the button tn your tripometer on the dash, it will show you the tripometer. push it again and it will show you the oil life expected value of your Engine Oil. Just push the button again for about 5 to 8 seconds and that will reset the Oil meter. Good luck

could be on front of motor or under the oil cap!!
