Check the enertia switch in the trunk its kills power to the fuel pump in an accident, ive had mine pop from hiting a large pot hole. theres a little white tab on a black box you need to push down to reset it.

Truck stop while driving on hwy. replaced fuel pump, fuel filter, wires plugs cap rotor but still no start

Have your ignition module checked, my car would start and drive and would go dead after a few miles and would not start until it cooled down, turned out to be the ignition module that eventually went bad and would not start at all.

Have 99 suburban 5.7. Just had fuel pump, filter, distributor, cap and rotor, spark plugs and wires, control module and coil replaced a little over a year ago. Drove great until it just shut off recently...

You might check for a fuel shut off valve. Some vehicles have them in case of an accident, it turns off the fuel pump. Some are just a relay that can be reset.

Started to act like it was out of gas. My gas guage is inop! Changed Spark plugs, wires, distributor rotor and now coil. Also fuel filter. Still pings at cruising speed and seems to have ruff idle. could it...

Hi there,

First thing you'll need to check is your fuel pump. Being that your guage sending unit is on the pump assembly, this would be a good place to start based on your symptoms. Check to make sure your fuel pressure is in the normal operating range, and check the wire connections leading to the fuel pump for any corrosion, looseness, grounding, etc. Make sure that when you turn the key to the on position before starting, that you can hear the "whirring" sound of the pump for several seconds. You may have a pump on it's way out, and you were fortunate enough to get a warning before it went out completely and left you stranded somewhere... :)

No fire mech changed mod on dist what next

Re-check the basics . Does the distributor rotor rotate while cranking?Note: Distributer cap must be removed. Does the vehicle have enough available spark to plugs? Do we have enough fuel pressure 30-35psi min.? With a 12volt test lamp
check for power to fuel injector while cranking. one wire should
remain lit and the other one should blink.
NO ROTOR ROTATION = worn distributor gear,or timing belt failure.
NO SPARK= bad module, coil,no voltage to coil,or faulty PCM
RELAY.

I was running this car in my driveway, when it died all of a sudden and will not restart. I find that there is no spark, and the fuel-pump is constantly running when the key is on. Help!

Hello Ford Cobra.
Strange the fuel pump stays running as soon as the key is on.
This is leading me towards a possible relay problem that is also affecting the power relay that powers up the injection system.
Is there power to the ignition coil momentarily as the key is turned on?
If so the power relay is working and will lead to the next diagnosis step.
Keep me informed.

1997 chev1500,cranks but wont' start

Are you getting spark to the plugs?? Take off a plug wire and put close to block 1/2" or so)and have someone crank engine-- is there spark?? if yes check ur fuel system--Fuel system could be plugged( filters) or worst fuel pump .

My 1989 ford F150 lariat cut off on me while I was going down the road. It is getting fuel but there is no spark coming from the coil wire. What could be the problem?

Has the truck had a tune up?
Check the TFI module or replace it should be bolted to bottom of distributor. Replace cap, wires, plugs, rotor button and coil.
(TFI modules during the 80's and 90's failed when it got hot.)

Sputters at cruising speed (86 5.0 mustang)

Check fuel pressure. Could be fuel pump witch is in the tank and replace the TFI module located under the distributor.
