I have an 08 Sebring and mine has been having the etc light come on and the car will stall..with little to no notice. It's at the dealer right now and they can't figure out what is causing this because the light doesn't stay on once you turn off the car and restart it. It's kind of relieving to me that someone else is having this problem. Hopefully Chrysler can figure out what the deal is with this!!

I bought my 2007 Chrysler sebring back in october
2007 and have had it ever since. However, after the first year , I
started having problem with the electronic throttle control light which
will come on sometime and never go off unless you stop the car and
restart. The electronic throttle control light always come on when I am
in heavy highway traffic of when I am driving in the city . When
electronic throttle control light is on you cannot break to stop the
car, or speed up. It make you loose control of the whole car increasing
the potentiality of accident if you was driving at any speed above 25
mph.Therefore when I drive I always make sure I am close to the curb. I
went to Chrysler dealerships, but they do not know what is going on with
the car or could cause that failure, `and have no idea how to fix it.I
do not know if this problem is related to the power train. Many other
owners of 2007 Chrysler sebring have had the same problem. This problem
happened to me already more than 30 times, luckily I am a good driver,
and with luck I was able to handle the car. i WENT TO PENNSYLVANIA this
weekend and almost did not make it home. Also last night it happened to
me twice at 12 am right at the exit of 295 while there was cars behind
me and i almost got into an accidents
my electronic throttle control light came on this morning along w/ the engine light...anyone knows what that mean.....i hate to be driving and something happens w/ my 2 kids in the car

I have a 2008 Chrysler Sebring and this light comes on periodically, however by the time I get the car to the dealership it is off. Just recently the car briefly stalled. How can this be fixed.
I am also having this problem over the last few years. Last summer I had the shifting mechanism replaced and the problem went away till today. They thought it was the shifter not recognizing that the car was in park. I was also having some trouble getting the car into gear, like it was sticking or caught on something. Taking it into the dealership today and maybe they can figure it out.

This electronic throttle control light is most likely due to a failed tps sensor located within the throttle body. Seing how theres no simple fix for this , the throttle body unit will ne to be replaced. I had the same problem happen to me and replaced the throttle body with a different one and the car immediatley came back to life with full strength.
