Hi from uk may i suggest you recheck battery terminal leads are clean/secure? then check the negative lead from battery where it connects at the other end to the engine usually at point where engine and transmission connet? ensure this connection is also clean/secure ? also you may try this? turn engine manually by crankshaftpully half a turn if it starts ok ? without click ? you may have a bad spot of teeth at some point on ring gear on flywheel? and now and again engine stops at the point thatstarter locks on bad teeth and does not rotate hence the click ? by turning engine half turn will clear teth from starter pinion ?you may even hear/feel starter pinion free itself ?

01 elantra won't start no radio no dash lights new battery tap starter it works now that doesn't work jumper cables didn't work

Check in fuse box under hood and dash look for blown fuses and bad starter relays. Also check ground cable from battery this needs to have a good connection. Could be a bad positive cable connection to starter solenoid. Well there's a list of things to check. Hope this helped

01 elantra new battery still won't start

What happens when you try to start?

do you hear any noises?

have you checked to see if there is power on the large wire at the starter? Have you checked to see if there is power on the small wire at the starter with the key in the crank position? If yes to those two questions than the starter may be your problem.

MT hyundai elantra is making a grinding noise when starting, new starter was instaled.

Sometimes starters come from the factory with shims to make sure there is correct clearance between the starter drive gear and the flywheel, have the person who installed check to see if there was a shim or shims on the old one and wether they put on shims on the new one.

I think I need to replace the starter

I suspect that the battery is bad. Do the wipers work with the key on? If not, battery is bad for sure. You should check battery voltage when trying to start and it needs to be over 9 volts or the battery is bad. Did you leave a belt loose? When you press down on them in the middle, they should depress no more than 1/2 inch.
