Question about 2003 Chrysler Town & Country

2003 Town and Country start problems

When I turn the key to start, there is a clicking sound, but the van won't start right away. Sometimes it takes several tries before it 'catches' and starts. Is it a starter problem?

Yes it sounds like the starter is bad,you have to keep on turning the key and you hear a click everytime you turn the key, replace the starter that should solve that problem, also make sure your battery connections are tight and clean.

Bad bcm 2003 chrysler town & country van

You need to go to the dealer. They will put in a rebuilt one and program it to your car . You can\'t do this yourself. I you get a junkyard one they won\'t warranty it and if it is bad you will have to reprogram it again. If anything isn\'t right after they put it in tell them right away they told me they needed diagnostic time to find problem I said your full of it I didn\'t have this problem until you replaced it . They put another one in and it has worked for 4 years

Chrysler van won't go forward or revers

Im having the same problem as you. First thing is, If it was a valve popping it would make the noise when started not only when in reverse. Secondly, the vehicle is starting so its not the battery, if it were clicking from the battery it would mean the van wouldnt start and it would be clicking when it tries to turn over.

Loud clicking noise and dash lights blink starter dont turn over

Per your description, it sounds as though your battery is very low. Try jump starting the van and see if the problems go away. If so, have the charging system checked and make sure no accessorys have been left in the on position.

Van sometimes will not turnover when you turn the key, just makes a clicking sound. You can try it a couple of times and it will start fine. Had battery checked and it's ok. Maybe starter is going out?

This is typical of a starter going bad. It is caused by the main start relay going bad. The contacts are burned and have lots of carbon buildup on them.

2003 Chrysler Town and Country will not turn over. Battery at 12.5 volts with no drop in voltage when key turned to start position, but I do hear a faint click sound. All lights, windows, guages appear to...

When you turn the switch over, does the lights dim or flicker? If that's the case then the battery don't have the power it needs to turn the engine over, so it could be the cables and post need cleaning, or the solenoid for the starter is bad. The description you give with the clicking sound, gives me the thought of starter solenoid, but always do the easiest and cheapest. "clean those terminals and post first"

Not Starting

I have a 1997 Town and Country minivan and it would not start nor would the odometer lights in the dash come on .It would start and immediately die. took it finally to the dealership and they said it was the BCM fixed that for $899.20 it worked for one day then back to normal as soon as I got it running again by jumping it which sometimes worked not always i took it back too the dealership and of course the whole time they had it it started right up everytime. finally it didn't and they checked it again they then said it was the cluster which they purchased a used one for $250.00 plus labor this time it cost me $503.74. And I have had not one problem with it it starts every time and drive great. So my advice is to take it to the dealership and ask them to check your BCM and your Cluster. Good Luck I am now happy with my Town and Country again. I
