My 1987 Dodge Ramcharger, 318 Auto, 2wd has a rear door issue. It won't shut and latch properly the owner before me installed additional locks on either side to secure the door but they are ugly. Any way to change out the rear door latch with electric locks or change it adjust it to latch more securely. I have electric locks and windows already and am looking to install remote lock/unlock and security system anyhow but the rear door needs someway to secure it better and needs the ability to lock it properly.

I have tried to adjust the the striker/lock mechanism with very little luck getting any results...as far as being lubed properly everything seems to be ok and in working order. Just seems to "release" when it wants to. It's like someone has pressed the button to unlock it...just seems to be a poor design. Is their anything internally I can adjust/replace to make it more secure.

Take a look at the latches, make sure they are grease good and all working, sometimes one of the latches freezes up, so the door is not completely latched, also you can adjust the striker to lock tighter, this is located on the body, at the top and bottom of the left side door, take a look and see if all latches are latching, use a screw driver to push them locked and see if latec will stay latched in the lock postion. good luck.

Need to find a repair manuel for 1987 Dodge Ram Charger transmission

What you want/need is a Factory Service Manual for the '87 Ramcharger, it covers each transmission in depth.
Which, if i remember correctly, there were 4 transmissions available in 1987. The Torqueflite 727 3-Speed Automatic (Found in 2WD and 4WD Ramchargers), the 904 Torqueflite 3-Speed Auto (2WD only), the New Process 435 4-Speed Manual Transmission (2WD & 4WD) and the Chrysler A833 4-Speed Manual (2WD only)

1990 Dodge 250 2wd trans fit 4x4 1988 Ramcharger

if you are talking about the trans no! the 2wd trans has a longer output shaft than the 4x4 you can have the shaft changed so that it can work if you are having trouble finding a trans.
