Intermittent problem with brakes, sometimes the

Intermittent problem with brakes, sometimes the anti-lock activate, but the real problem is sometimes the truck won't stop, has an extremely hard pedal, replaced rotors and pads and still doing the same thing, any suggestions. (I am a Fixya Guru but not my AOE)

it happens whenever after any amount of driving, I was thinking that the booster is going bad but wanted to see what someone else thought.

Where do you live? In a cold, snowy, sometimes icey area? It could be something as simple as iced up brake sensors. Does it happen during the first few minuits of driving, or does it happen "whenever" after any amount of driving, long or short periods...

Your vacuum brake booster is gone... not cheap;... the big black thing under your hood and in front of the drivers side steering..

Testimonial: "that is what I am leaning towards, but the mechanic seems to think sensors. Thanks again"

U 1900 code on 2007 Ford 6.0l Diesel 350 Super Duty

U1900 FORD - CAN Communication Bus Fault

Read more: https://www.autocodes.com/u1900_ford.html
Possible causes
Faulty / intermittent ignition switch connections
CAN Bus wiring intermittently open/shorted to power or ground Faulty / intermittent connection at PCM
Faulty electrical connections at ABS Control Module
Faulty electrical connections at the instrument cluster
Poor connections at the trailer brake controller/trailer connector

Tech notes This is typically a false/intermittent code. It can occur if: Someone hooks up a scanner to the OBDII port while the ignition is on or while the engine is idling. A trailer brake system is installed improperly/incorrectly on a truck with ABS (anti-lock brakes).

When is the code detected? When the PCM, Brake Controller and Instrument Cluster are unable to communicate with each other at any time while the ignition switch is turned to the "Run" position, code U1900 sets in memory.

Possible symptoms Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light) Amber ABS (Anti-lock Brakes) Light ON Wrench Light On

U1900 Ford Description The Anti-ock Brakes System (ABS) module, the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), and the instrument cluster communicate over the Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus. This is a high-speed bus communication system and is not fault tolerant, which means any type of intermittent/loose connection between these 3 controllers will cause communication to stop. When the PCM, ABS module and instrument cluster are unable to communicate with each other at any time while the ignition switch is turned on, code U1900 will set.

Front breaks lock up,while driving, park for a few minutes, breaks are fine

Could be that the callipers are jamming or the wheel is running tight. Check for wheel spin with the front wheels off the ground, they should spin with minimum effort. Could also be something wrong with the master cylinder. It may not be releasing properly and slowly building pressure to lock the brakes. After sitting for a while, it returns to normal position and releases the brakes. Mt Ford had a dud wheel bearing which would intermittently start to seize. When this happened, the anti lock braking system thought that the wheel was about to lock and would throw the brakes on and off without warning... Check your wheel bearings too.

I sometimes get a message saying oil pressure is low stop engine if it was the oil pump it would stay on or am i wrong this only happens sometimes when the car is idling I also have the traction...

If the oil pump was bad, it would most likely stay on, but if you have a plugged oil pick up tube, then it would be intermittent. Just have to pull the pan, pull off the pickup tube, clean it out real good and put it back on and you will be good.

Three intermittent warning lights

I would think a sensor is going bad , but ,without testing that is just a guess , just like the dealer tech , assuming it's a module or a fuse ! With the light's on checking for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes would be a real good first step . The dealer tech should have hooked up the Tech 2 scan tool an checked codes an look at sensor data parameters ....

2001 Chevy Silverado anti-lock brakes activate on dry pavement, the pedal pulsates, the typical anti-lock brake sound is heard, and the truck feels like it is not going to stop at times

One of the sensors has gone bad and needs to be replaced, the other thing to that would also do that is the ABS sensor is dirty or needs to be re gaped to the speed ring on the hub. There was a issue bulletin with your Tahoe on the ABS activating under 8 km/h. Good luck and hope this helps, if not clean out the sensor with brake parts cleaner and check the wire harness and ABS sensor bracket. Re gap the sensor to the speed ring hub. Here is the bulletin. Anti lock Brake (ABS) Activation at Low Speeds (Clean Wheel Speed Sensor Mounting Surface) #03-05-25-007C - (05/16/2006) 2001-2006 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe

Anti-lock brakes activate on dry pavement

First, is the ABS light on? Does it come on when it's doing it? Make sure the brake fluid is full, and the brakes are still servicable, ie, pads still have meat on them. If so, the abs control module or a speed sensor might be on the way out. This is a safety issue, and I would recommend getting the truck to a good mechanic to have it checked out.
