Unbolt the the two nuts that hold it onto the transmission. Then grab the slave cylinder and turn it counter clockwise and it should pop out. That is correct because holding it in the hole and turning it clockwise seats it back into the transmission.

Remember to remove the connection between the clutch pedal and the master cylinder or put a brick or something to hold the clutch pedal up or else removing the slave cylinder without the above note will ruin the hydraulics and allow air to get into this airless system.

Do you have to drop trans to install slave cylinder on 95 ford ranger

I know the regular sized Ford pickups had the slave cylinder inside the bellhousing, requiring transmission removal for replacement (not very smart, Ford!) So I suppose your Ranger, too, if you don't see the cylinder on the outside.; Most people who go through this replace the whole clutch and the slave cylinder at the same time, to avoid having to do it over again.

How do you change a clutch cable on 97 saturn sc1?

Impossible as it has a hydraulic clutch, and no it cannot be adjusted. It has a small master cylinder and a slave cylinder, just like a brake system. If one of those has failed, you buy a pre-bled replacement for the whole little system and bolt it in.

2002 saturn vue, manual shifting problems

You have a slave cylinder for this trans. Pump the clutch pedal 25 times with the engine OFF. Then start it and try shifting it into each gear while parked. If this make it work your slave cylinder needs to be replaced

I pushed my clutch and it was spongy and didn't engage. It is just limp.

the slave cylinder is probably bad,it is part of the throw out bearing with is on the trans output shaft, you need to remove the trans to change it,,,,its a big job,,,,can not do this at home, take it to a shop,if the slave cylinder is bad it usually leaks out by the trans onto the ground,or you have a worn out clutch, either one needs the trans removed

95 saturn sc1 all of a sudden had engine light on and the idle just went way low, also effects how tranny shifts, but will barely stay running in gear with brake on. Sometimes it starts idling fine and...

You either have a bad engine coolant temp sensor & connector.Located under upper radiator hose at cylinder head Yellow & black wire.Original sensor is ceramic & replacement will be brass from saturn. Also you may check for vacuum leaks at PCV hose & valve.Hope this helps
