I put a 93 cherokee H.O motor in my 97. Every time i start it, it idels off. tack bounces alittle when reving. past 3k RPMS it backfires. goes into R, 2, and 1 gear buy not drive. (acts like drive isnt there) and When i took it down the road. it was craving power and wouldnt do anything when i gave it more gas and running rough. (shaking, bogging down, backfire every now and then. it also wants to die at stops. do you have any solutions?

have the fault codes read to determine the fault

Try changing the transmission fluid. If you don't know how to do that, any Lube business can do it for you.

engine can be out of time
low fuel pressure
or can be a burn valve
need to check ignition timing and fuel pressure to see if they are ok first

it is not rh defrost. sound like it is the tempeture sensor inop not telling the mass air flow sensor that vehicle is cold....

its normal .

how long has this been happing..one tank of fuel or more, could have been bad gas, replace filter,, put gas dryier in fuel tank..if it continues could possibly be transmission related..the reving down doesn't sound like transmission though if tansmission was slipping it would rev up..good luck

Bad a/c compressor clutch.

sounds like you have jumped a tooth on the timing if not timing out

check wires, cap and rotor for tracking or moisture. Replace as needed
