My car keeps lurching forward when I'm driving and cutting out unless the engine is reved hard when moving off in first gear. Any suggestions to the problem?

Try looking for an airleak in the hose from the inlet manifold to the brake reservoir,

1993 Grand Marquis keeps lurching forward when driving. Acceleration is very poor because of this. Sometimes the check engine light will come on when it lurches and sometimes it won't.

The other suggestions & more --would be a good place to start

My car has been on the diagnostic machine 3 times and it has undocumented code 04122 nobody knows what it refers to. I have a Renault clio dynmique 51 reg. MY engine electronics light comes on all the time...

The OBD code PO4122 most common cause is a damaged catalytic converter, poss internal engine problems causing misfires that damaged the converter, a faulty head gasket. Do u notice oil consumption either?

I would very first recommend checking your transmission fluid. It may be low and would cause the lurches and the rough shifts.

Reverse died, engine HOT, drive lurches

I would have to say that your transmission failed. The Tranmission was trying to lock up and the engine was being forced to labor extra hard and that is what more than likely created the extra heat.

95 Eagle Talon "Power Surges" When Running

its related.. its a problem somewhere in the fuel intake system. you should have this checked out. If there isnt any loss of power but just dies and reves at the same engine speed ,, have your transmission or torque converter looked at.
