1979 cadillac eldorado biarritz headlights dont turn on anymore

The headlight switch contains a circuit breaker for the headlights. You would need to know if you have power in and out of the headlight switch for the headlight circuit. You may need a new switch.

More likely that the turn signal switch assembly is bad.Have someone watch the tailights(or use a large mirror) to see if the bright tailight filaments come on with the brake pedal held down while you wiggle the hazard light switch.

How about timing chain being worn & gears stripped ?

Put a timing light on it, then put the pick up on a wire
half way thru the firing order & see if they timing is
the same.

No u have to open your trunk,when u open it look down just behind the light u should see what looks like three or four big plastic wing nuts unscrew these and the whole light assembly will pull out so be careful not to drop it once u get this off the light to be changed should be on the back of the light assembly gently twist the bulb holder piece Counter Clock wise it should come out easy,pull old bulb out replace with new one ,turn the bulb holder clock wise to put back in,and reverse the steps putting the light assembly back just remember not to tighten the black wing nuts in the trunk to tight

replace the brake light switch mounted on the bracket by the brake pedal. You need to adjust it to operate correctly also. The third brake light works off a different circuit when applying brakes

check all vacuum hoses.if any looks cracked replace them.make sure carburater bolts are tight.check the egr valve make sure its not leaking.besure have your idle speed adjusted.it should be at 550 to 600 rpms.

IT SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAVE A LOOSE OE BROKEN GROUND IN THE HEADLIGHT CIRCUIT.

hello what i would do is take it back to the mechanic have him check the plug into the ign switch either all the contacts are contacting ,defective switch ,what your explaing sounds like a broken ground somewhere in the turn signal assembly located in the steering wheel behind the steering wheel goodluck please rate
