This is defanitly your problem car has amp in trunk factory you have to hook your remote (blue white stripe) up to the power accessory wire wich will only come on when your key is turned back so use a light tester on wires to see which wire is not hot until key is on one power wire will stay on constantly dont use constant it will run the battery dead
The original radio is a BOSE system and it has a buit in amp. So if you replaced the deck you need to replace the speakers all so. Don't cut the wires to hook-up the deck buy an addapter KIT. It's not just the stereo that runs though that harness the factory alarm does all so and that will cause you problems. Anyway back to the stereo you need to add an amplifier and problem sovled.
first of all, is your radio factory or aftermarket? If its factory the you probably have a bad ground or a short in the radio power to antenna. If its after market, then the remote antenna wire is hooked up wrong. Check to make sure the antenna wire is hooked up to the antenna. Good luck
The remote wire is an accessory power source, like the ACC line from your radio. (usually the red one). Can also be hooked into anything that has 12v when the ignition is on, like a powered antenna.
i have a 1990 iroc-z and i replaced the radio with an aftermarket radio. when i replaced the factory radio i had to do a little manuvering of the wires because of the alarm i had installed. the antenna wire is supposed to be ran under the PASSENGER side i dont understand why they are under the driver side.
From the factory wiring there will be a red/white wire with a constant 12v and an ignition switched 12v wire which is red/gray. Hook those to corresponding wires on the aftermarket wiring harness. You may have the constant and switched wires backwards. Also the antenna trigger wire (usually blue on aftermarket radios) should be hooked up to the green/red wire on the factory harness.

by the way you tell me that the radio illumination is the gray wire and all of the rest you are wrong. try the correct way red is key positive, yellow is constant power, black is ground, orange is illumination, blue is remote, gray is right front positive and gray black is negative, white is left front positive and white black is negative, green is left rear positive and green black is negative, violet is Right rear positive and violet black is negative,
Can purchased an adapter kit at Best Buy or Circuit City that is color cordinated with the factory wires for about 12.00. This will go right into the factory plug.
