I just replaced the vehicle speed sensor on my 2003 pontiac grand am gt less than a week ago was driving home and car started to lose speed and would not go into any gear. tried to put it in reverse and drive and nothing. so i left the car there for the night and come back the next day and the car went into gear and drove for a minute then the same problem happened again. is there something besides the speed sensor it could be?

Your ignition switch is bogus. High speed runs directly off the speed control but the lower speeds go thru the ignition switch. Do not know why but that is the way it is!!!!!!!!
Replace the ignition switch and you will be back in business.
the oil sensors tell you lots of things so yes it could be because you're burning up the oil. i would try putting in a bottle of Lucas it is thick and it should help you burn less oil. it is a full quart so don't over fill.
P0102 is ---- mass or volume air flow circuit, low input.
Check the wires going to the maf sensor and at the connection. If all seems ok, you might need a new sensor, seeing how it ran a little better when disconnected.
I belive they didn't reset the oil light timer. I belive the sequence is 1. key on (not acc with engine off)
2. step on the brake pedal 5 times within 10 seconds. 3. key off. 4. start car. 5. check if the light went out. you may have to try it a few times to get it.
Sounds like you have a bad wheel speed sensor. You need to have it scanned. Since it's been sitting, it might just be a bad connection to one of the speed sensors.
Honestly to me it sounds like a charging problem. Was the vehicle's alternator charging properly? Is the vehicle's battery dead? As you are probably aware, newer vehicles have multiple computers that monitor various functions. Some of these functions rely on only the slightest voltage or need the full 12 volts (actually closer to 14v.) supplied by the charging system. if the charging system isn't functioning properly, then it's very likely that you could experience such issues. Also many newer vehicles will essentially have to relearn how to function if there is a voltage variance issue. Consequently the trunk issue might have something to do with that. hope this helps.
