My car wont start the battery is new a machanic say i need a pcm what is that

Get a qualified mechanic

Cek motor starter or change battery with the new one.

when I try and start the truck sometimes it sounds like it locks up, other times it works good, when it wont start I can charge it and it will start, Check the battery with a machanic and it was ok. Any help wilkl help

for security reasons this is difficult to reset usually the car and remotes need to be set up again. it happens when the car loses power so if the car is stolen or imobilised the car forgets the key codes.
take the car to a dealer or Machanic shop. prove to them it is your car and they will set the remotes back up for you.

Are you sure that you connected all the cables that are supposed to be connected to your battery?

The Powertrain Control Module is mounted on top of the battery case. The last time I heard this story is was because the owner did not disconnect and remove the PCM to replace the battery as recommended by the vehicle manufacturer. Instead, he allowed the PCM to hang loose by the wiring harness and fried the PCM when it arced against the battery terminals.

If this sounds familiar to you, get ready to spend some BIG BUCKS.

you might need a new computer or a new engine for most of that part... or a second choice you can buy a used motor for about $500 to $800 and save your self the stress

try by removing cables from battery, and hold cables together for about 10 seconds this may reset pcm. If this doesnt work your vehicle needs to put on a scanner. Not just an obd one.

a lot of cars from ford have the pats system installed. you could also have some pcm issues, for the pcm has to relearn some procedures. hope this helps !

Check all your starter wires. Make sure they are all tight. Then If you can see the two posts on the starter solenoid (not the starter) jump them with a screwdriver. If starter engages it could be an ignition swich.

that pcm needs reprograming, you just cant buy one and put it in, the new computer needs to be programed or the car wont run, it might start but it will die out,have the pcm programed and if that was your problem the car should run. hope this helps.

the radio that come with car is program to pcm .if remove or put in another radio. pcm security mode kick in.it dont recognize radio it think theft so it disable car ignition so you cant start.if you get a radio the dealership has to put them in and program it.
