I have a 2001 Freightliner Century class semi. The right front parking light is not working. The bulb has been replaced, but after probing the leads to the bulb socket there is no power to any of the leads. The DRL is working fine are they on a seperate circut?

Hi Roy:
I'd be looking for a bad connection or contact on the switch. Try bypassing the switch. If the lights stay on, the switch is faulty. You may be able to dismantle and clean the contacts, otherwise replace.
Cheerfuls!
If the numbers are still working, it may just be a bulb. Get a kid to go under the dash and see if he can see the back of the console. It will be plastic with wires going to various places in it. Those places usually are the lights. Figuring out which is the right place takes communication and time. With the parking lites on, the bulb that is not lit in the likely place is probably the one you're looking for.
Buy the kid ice cream. He'll need a small flashlight.
There should be a cover on the back of the assebly. a few crews and some metal clips. I dont think you have to remove the whole assembly to change it if i remember right. it should just be a protective cover.
Turn the signal light on to the right and probe the contacts in the bulb socket with a test light to see if the power is there, your test light should blink, the other contact in the socket is the parking lights and tail light. if no power at contacts probe the wire it's self where it enters the socket for power.if you have it there the socket is faulty.
k you will have to pop out the whole light fixture and there should be a conduit where the bulb is conected to just turn it and take it out and replace the bulb
