What is the ignition timing set for on a 1989 Chevy 350CID 6 Liter engine. My truck was manufactured in Canada an there 350 CID engines are 6 Liter. When I adj mine for 0 Degree TDC like a 5.7 Liter engine it runs like the timing is wrong.

Bring #1 cylinder up on compression stroke, TDC this will tell you which mark to use.

To know what size of motor you have in the vehicle, you need the LETTERS that are stamped on the engine itself. The locations are:

For an inline 6:

The six cylinder engine letters are stamped on a pad on the right side of the engine at the rear of the distributor-
230 CID 6 CYL---TA, TE, OR TG
292 CID 6 CYL---UH OR UT

For a V-8:

The V8 engine letters are stamped on a pad immediately forward of the right hand cylinder head (driver's side head)-
283 CID 8 CYL---WA AND WE

There is no 350 CID installed in '65 in the Chevy.
