Nick, put a small heater under hood of car for 3 to 4 hours, point it towards front of engine directing toward water pump location. After 3 to 4 hours try to turn engine over to see if it is seized.
Engine probably not seized, if coolant was not strong enough, frost plugs may have popped, which would be better then cracked engine block. to show your appreciation press the helpful button and follow me on fixya for more tips and info.
Which one? There is one at the front of the engine by the timing belt, one at either end of the cross member that runs from under the radiator to the base of the fire wall and one at the rear of the transmission. I have had to replace all of them on my 2000 S40
Check fuse no. 11 (10A) in the driver's under dash fuse/relay box. I suspect it is blown. It provides power for the rear wiper, both washers, and the intermittent wiper function for front and rear. It probably blew when your rear wiper got stuck.
jag-you-are would prefer that you take your car to one of their service centers!! probably has an internal filter element that needs special equip. to access and change out.lot of high end cars have that type of filter now. my brothers mercedes mid-1990s doesn't even have a tranny dip-stick! need special tools to check level! hard to be a 'shade-tree' mechanic anymore! good luck!
You will need a sppring lock removal tool. Go to a parts store and ask them for the fuel line removal tool kit. There should be 5-6 pieces and it is not that expensive. The tool itself has a **** in it and a big end and a small end. You slip the tool over the metal line small end towards the lock and just push it in and pull the lines apart.
sounds like c/v axles (front drive shafts) they will make a clicking sound normally when turning sharp and accell at the same time at slow speeds / look at the axle boots and look for grease on the inside of the front wheels leaking out the axle boots
