The frontend starts to shake when I reach 55mph but goes away at faster and slower speeds. I had a nissan dealer replace a front engine mount not long ago which gave the same symptom. The tires are new and have been checked again. The front end alignment was checked including the suspension. It shakes only on the acceleration and not the coasting at 55mph. When the engine mount was bad it shook at 65mph on the hills while accelerating. After the engine mount was repaired it now starts to shake at 55mph. The dealer rechecked the front engine mount and the others and said they all look good. What else could it be?

Shakes ONLY under acceleration? Goes away when you back off of the throttle? Are you sure?
Please inspect the front and both side engine mounts. The half shafts will cause that sort of a shake(whole car) when they go bad(inboard CV joints).
Aggravated OR caused my a motor mount that has shifted to one side, binding the half shaft.
Common in Chrysler mini vans!!!!!!That is why the front motor mount is adjustable.
Check the engine mount on the short half side first.

WHY DOES MY CAR VIBRATE AT 55MPH & FASTER?

If the vibration is in the steering wheel a tire out of balance or a separating tread could be the problem. Have it checked at a tire shop or move the front tires to the back to see if it goes away.

Front end shakes at all speeds, worsens at higher

Hello!
Could honestly be something a simple as low air in one of the front tires that will throw off alignment, or a little more complex as a bent tie rod or worn out CV joint (low on lube). Start with the simple -- check the air in all the tires and make sure they are all at the correct PSI. If you still find that it does the same, try driving it on the highway (or any straight away) and let go of the wheel for a brief moment to see if the car pulls to a certain direction. If it still drives straight then I would scratch off the bent tie rod. Still could be CV joint or even the sway bar is damaged. Being a 2003, I may even venture to say that the engine mounts may be a little worn and the shake is the result of normal engine running but poor stability due to the old mounts.
As you can see there could be a WIDE range of things. Best thing to do for safety sake is to bring it in to a shop. Have them do an inspection. Most places charge minimal for an inspection and at that point you can make a decision on whether it is worth fixing.
Hope this helps a little!

1994 Nissan Altima shakes while idling

Broken or worn out engine mounts will cause allot of engine vibration in drive at idle, reverse also, change all 4 the mounts, not just the 2 broken ones. As far as slow acceleration no mounts will not cause that, Have you reached the 100,000 mile recommended tune up? have you ever replaced the fuel filter, this is required every 30,000, let me know.
