it has a sensor fault but the problem is finding the fault ,best advice here is to ask BMW dealer to have a look for you as sometimes this sort of fault could be anything from a sensor to a microprocessor and without the correct software its very difficult to locate

Hi, there,
The buttons for the resetting are there beside the LCD Screen. However, they may be written in German. You will just "play" with it a little and realize that you can reset the hour hand and the minute hand accordingly. You might even hear a german voice depending on your setting.
Cheers

Hi aajabbar , this can be tricky if you haven't reset the cbs indicator before
first turn the ignition on so that you have all the ignition lights on and the engine not running, once the service indicator has cleared fom the display, press and hold the tripometer in until the display shows a triangle then the microfilter symbol, release the button then press and hold again untill reset shows, then release and press and hold again untill you have a sequence of lines on display, once this has happened release the button and turn off the ignition, once the ignition is switched on again the sevice indicator should have reset. you may wish to print these instructions and familiarise yourself with them before carrying out a reset. regards Mark.
put your keys in so that your instrument clsuter on the dash come on,(no need to start the engine), use your mileage reset button to change time by turning it clockwise and anticlockwise till you reach the correct time.. it will change on your dash aswell as your radio..
