If you have the stereo, the easiest way will be to get a Haynes repair manual on your vehicle so you have directions for opening the dashboard, if you haven't figured that part out. Next you'll want to go to walmart or some retailer that sells adapter kits and pick up an adapter mounting kit and wiring connection. This will allow you to use the original wiring harness with your new radio. The adapter for the radio it self may not be needed so check first. If the New radio has a cover plate attachment it may not need an adapter. Most Chryslers do need one and some of the imports but not all. Good Luck

Disc player not working 2014 grand cherokss jeep

Replace the stereo in the Jeep.
Aftermarket or factory your choice.
There is no way to self resolve this problem...
And any junk yard stereo you buy will need an activation code. Just buy a good Pioneer or Kenwood stereo and install it. Problem solved. No more BS

My 2008 sebring radio cd player keeps showing a comm error mwessage when turned on

You may have to have your stereo "matched" to your car. Your local dealer can usually do this for you

My 1997 chevy malibu's factory radio/cd player says error whenever I try to play a cd,what can I do about this and how can I fix it?

is the CD one that you made yourself or is it store bought? Have you tried other CD's?

If the error message is displayed when other CD'd are tried as well than there is a problem with the CD player. You can try using a CD player cleaning kit. Its possible that the laser head is dirty.

There are two other options if cleaning does not work.
1. you can pull the stereo and send it in for repair or replace it.

2. you can install an aftermarket stereo (usually cheaper)

Changed Radio and now car won't start

What stereo did you use as a replacement? If you used a aftermarket (kenwood, sony, etc) cd player, you need to use the proper adapter harness. These cars have a build in theft deterrent system that involves the stereo. So, when you replace the stereo, a component of your anti theft system is missing. The use of the harness gets around this feature somehow, and allows you to use aftermarket CD players. Also, ensure that no wires are getting pinched behind the stereo, and that all your connections are soldered and shrink wrapped to avoid any future problems. I have provided a link for the correct adapter harness to your vehicle.

MINI: Trying to eject non-existent CD

I have only seen this problem once and the only fix was to replace the cd player. I would suggest to get an aftermarket cd player from electronics store and have them install it. The factory option is over 700 installed. sorry

Cd player instalation

Most stereo installation places have plugs that adapt your current harness to your new one. Take your new player with you to match up, it may save you a nightmare in wiring, for the sake of $20 or so.
