there is a bleed screw at either end of the pump so crack them and use the primer until there is solid fuel flow
close of
now crack the nuts on the lines at the injectors
turn the engine over until you see solid fuel drops from the nuts and while still turning over , tighten the injector nuts back up
SAFETY NOTE ___do not use fingers in this area as the fuel pressure is at 22,000psi and fuel will pierce the skin and give you blood poisoning
just use the spanner
You sound like you had an accident recently & the fuel to the fuel-injector has a shut off safety switch that was activated. The button is in your trunk of the car. This much I know it happened to mine.
If your car is petrol it should self prime when you switch the car on. If your car is diesel there should be a manual primer to pump pressure into the injectors and remove any air in the fuel lines. you will need to pump this until you feel the pump get hard to push which means there is fuel there. you may need to do this a few times to remove all the air from the lines. Hope this helps.
Your fuel pump runs for a few seconds when you turn the ignition is turned on because the fuel pressure naturally eases off when the engine is stopped, it runs until it gets to>< 30PSI and kicks off. This is normal, you know that fuel is reaching the injector line. On some engines there is a solenoid that has to trigger before fuel can go into the fuel lines for the injectors. If this solenoid isn't firing the computer will detect it and shut off the ignition. Look for some kinda solenoid or gadget where your fuel line come up in front of the fire wall. It should be close to where the fuel line splits off to go to each bank. Hope it;s a wire come unplugged and easy fixed.

THERE IS NO FUEL SAFETY SWITCH ON A 02 OPTIMA . IF YOUR HAVING TROUBLE GETTING IT TO START YHEY HAVE ISSUES WITH TIMING BELTS TAKING OUT THE CRANK SENSOR WHICH WILL KILL SPARK AND INJECTOR PULSE .
check the fuel line that is connected to the throttle body. how you do that is have a little cup to catch the fuel have somebody turn the ignition key quickly not to start the engine just to see if fuel comes out the line. if no fuel comes out the line, that means the fuel pump in the fuel tank went bad or clogged, if fuel comes out that means your fuel injectors is clogged. have a certified mechanic take a look at your fuel injectors.i give you advice to have a certified mechanic check the fuel injectors for safety.
For a 2003 it is on the frame rail under the drivers side door. Don't
bother taking off the black holster that holds the fuel filter/injector onto the
frame rail. 1 )Simply unscrew the nuts on both sides of the fuel
filter/injector. It will be under pressure. Wear safety goggles. A couple of cups
of fuel will spill. 2) Look at the fuel line on the engine side. Notice the clip holding in the line. Remove the line from the clip. 3) Remove the fuel lines from the filter starting with the side toward the engine. This side has more play/laxity in the line. 4) Slide out the fuel filter/injector from the black holster. 5) Slide in the new fuel filter/injector with the flow directional arrow pointing toward the engine. 6) Attach the fuel line to the filter starting with the tank side first. Don't force it and thread out the fittings.
7) Attach the engine side fuel line. The fitting would come together by
hand screwing the male into the female end. I did have to use a wrench
to gently start it.
