My 1995 honda accords oil light comes on and the engine light stays on and the car shuts down until i put more oil in it but the problem is that its already oil in the car
The oil light isn't for oil level, its for pressure. if the oil is touching the lines on the dipstick, you have plenty. don't overfill it, that will cause other issues, such as smoking and misfiring. make sure the level is between the lines on the dipstick. if the level is correct and the light is still on, there is an internal oil pressure problem, such as oil pump, clogged oil passages, or worn out engine bearings (cam, crank, rods). you should not drive the car if it is full of oil and the oil light is on. have it towed to a shop or serious engine damage could occur, if it already hasn't
