I have a 1996 Chevy Lumina 4 door car and my dash and tail lights are out but the break lights work and the factory installed radio/clock works. I checked all the fuses inside the dash passanger door and all are OK. Is the another fuse to look for or is it a bulb or something else I should check?

For a car that’s over 20 years in age, I would say bulbs need replaced. For the dash though, check the “bright/dim” adjust for the dash lights to make sure it wasn’t turned to the off position.

SOURCE: Dashboard and tail lights out on 97" Nissan Sentra

I took my pathfinder to U-HAUL and asked them to check the towing lights. There was a pinched wire by my tail light and they cut it and changed it out for me, it was $5. I am so glad that I didnt take it to Nissan. My second step was going to be getting a new dimmer switch..but the guy who worked on my car said that wouldnt be the problem. He also told me that replacing a fuse that kept blowing out was dangerous and after the first time to get it checked out. Learn something new every day!!

SOURCE: Left rear brake light stopped working but bulb and fuses are OK.

These are Dual Function Bulbs. They control the Parking Lights and the Brake Lights. This Bulb is Burnt out on the Brake Coil inside the Bulb. I have actually seen Bulbs that were Bad But you could not Tell by jast looking at them. It should be fine with a New Bulb. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

1999 chevy lumina headlight

There should be a fuse for the dash lights and one for the tail lights.
A mechanic would check for voltage for each circuit at the headlight switch and go from there.

My husband installed a radio now the dash board lights are not working 1993 chevy lumina

One of the wires to the factory radio is common to the dash lights. Perhaps he accidentally connected that wire to the wrong place. Or, perhaps it got shorted during the installation. Check for a burned fuse. If that isn't it, I would take the radio out and relook at the installation instructions for the radio.

The brake lights wont work. The brake light over

the break light wire on the lumina runs through the blinker switch or multifunction switch on the colum.. check there as well as at the tail light sockets. on the late 90s gm cars the sockets had a tendancy to rot away... use a test light at the brake light wire in the trunk and have a friend apply the break. if there is power then may have to get new tail lights. or replacement bulbs.

1996 Chevy Lumina Car. No dash gage lights. Radio works and has lights.Which fuse should I replace? There isn't one that indicates dash. Service Engine light sometimes comes on for a day or so and then...

It's probably the dimmer switch, chevy is bad for them going out or shorting. It should be on the fuse with the dome light. Try working the dimmer back and forth, see if it works then.

Brake lights dont work but the other tail lights do

Check the brake light switch under the dash attached to the brake peadal arm. It is wher the break booster push rod attaches. Sometimes that switch works loose.
