Hi my kia sportage starts find but the fuel gauge has stoped working
and is on empty with a full tank of gas? can someone help
Hi this sounds like it could be a couple of things, first the obvious have you checked the fuse? or it might be the relay in the fuse box might need replacing, and the fuel sender unit in the fuel tank, you also can check out the wires going to the sender unit, sometimes you can find these under the rear seat or in the boot/trunk area might be a simple case of one of the wires have come adrift there is a couple of things to check before having the sender unit replaced or the Gage..hope that helps
Hi, maybe the unit in the tank needs cleaning. try to check it. and click to know about the newest kia sportage
If the gauge doesn’t work it could be a bad gauge or the Unit in the tank needs to be clean
I put out the fuse "cluster" from the fuse box , then checked the fuse, it was OK, then put in the fuse. It worked OK.
There is no fuse for the fuel guage on Kia, when the system fails or is broken into for some reason, it tells the ECU the tank is empty and therefore shows as empty, I have a sorento, I have tested the float all working, tested the guage all working, tested power to and from float to guage all working, tested earthing all good, apparently the ECU has a memory chip for the fuel guage, f the system is broken into IE: the float removed or cables disconnected it will then show as empty, as this it what the ECU is telling the guage, apparently after a few fill ups it resets itself, mine work fine until I took the float out, now shows empty, so I keep the tank filled up, supposedly it will come back at some point!!
