I parked my car up for 5 days which was all working ok and on my return. i have an message coming up saying gearbox error,cruise control not available. and also main head lights not working, AA run diagnostics and error codesP1111+ P1643,P16437 AND P10004 . ANY HELP WOULD BE MUCH APPRECIATED

There is a specialty shop in Moscow, ID that will rebuild your module very reasonably. They actually have arepair listing on Ebay, ModuleMaster. Sent them mine, returned in 5 days, reinstalled, perfect.

You'll probably need a shop manual for this. The light only means the system is getting power. It could be the transducer or controller, even a vac leak.

A computer scan of the car should point you to the problem in the cruise control, or whatever it is. When the engine light goes on, it should store a trouble code. Many national parts stores do free scans for trouble codes.

Just wanted to let everyone know what the problem was. The brake light switch was causing the problem.

When I spoke with the "GOOD" dealership they had asked if I was having a problem with the cruise control as well and that if I were it was more than likely the brake switch. At the time I didn't know yes or no, as I have mainly been city driving (not to easy to use the cruise). So I went for cruise and tried the cruise control and it didn't work, it came on but I was unable to set it for a specific speed.

So I headed over to the "GOOD" dealership (as they had this part in stock) purchased the brake switch for $15 and proceeded to change the switch out in the parking lot. It only took 5 minutes and no tools were required. Afterwards I went for a cruise and the cruise control was working fine, and I have yet to see the dreaded "Service Elec Brake System" warning message in 3 hours of driving.

Hello. If the engine light or ABS is on then the cruse control will not work.

You have a blown fuse for the brake lights. The shifter will not come out of park if the brake lights do not work. The crusie will not work, either. I will bet that there is a short in your trailer wiring, and it popped the brake light fuse. Easy to check; get in, start it up, push the brake. The most common problem for a misfire and a flashing check engine light is the ignition coi on plug.
Each spark plug has its own coil pack. With a coil pack failing it will also cause a airflow code as the car will start to run rich. With the vehicle misfiring it can also inhibit the Cruise control but it will not necessarily bring on a gearbox fault. The most common cause of the gearbox fault light coming on as you describe is usually a weak battery.
I would replace the coil pack and have the battery tested.
