I went to open the sunroof but pushed the button to close instead and it sounded like it locked it. Now I can not open it. What could be the problem? I was told the fuse is good, but have not looked for myself, not sure where to look for this fuse.
Thank you for any information you may give me.
You can manually open it from the trunk. look in the driver's side wheel well there will be a plactic cover that needs to removed, underwhich there is the motor. there is nob on the motor that can be turned with the socket wrench in your car's tool pouch, or other. if you are able to open it slightly, try the switch again and listen for the motor to turn. If the motor does not turn, and the fuse is ok, then the motor is bad. If the motor turns, but the sunroof doesn't move, than the motor's cable drive gear is slipping due to wear and needs to be replaced (common problem after 20+years of opening and closing particularly if the track is not periodically oiled). I would double check the fuse (driver side engine compartment) first, then the switch by pressing hard on it. After 20+ years these switches do go.
