There is a blower moter resistor on the back of the hvac box.
All 4 blower speeds go through this resistor. orange/hi-lit blu/med-tan/lo
and yellow is lowest. There is an hvac relay in the fuse block under the
hood. But I believe it just provides 12v to the resistor, so if it was not
working, the blower would not have high either. Hope this helps.

2004 canyon no voltage at heater resistor

The resistor provides the ground circuit for the blower motor. So you would need to have power at the blower motor first. Grounding the motor or resistor should make the motor run.
The blower motor gets power from a 30amp fuse which gets power from a relay.

My heater works but wont blow out any vents. replaced blower motor

Under your hood, passenger side bolted right in the middle of your air conditioning unit is a lone relay screwed in with 2 screws. That was the reason my 92 Blazer wouldn't blow 99% of the time. Knew it wasn't likely the motor since mine worked sometimes, and motors usual are just good or bad. The low/med/high fan speed switch has a resistor in it that can also go bad, I changed that 1st, no change, swapped out that $6 relay and now I have a fan again :) Those are really the only 2 things causing your problem unless your wiring is a wreck or something unusual. Bonus: relay's a 5 min fix taking your time.

Fan motor doesn't work on 1-3 but works on 4 for the A/C and Heater. Is it a fuse or switch problem?

It's your blower motor resister. It is located on or near the blower motor. This, when it goes bad, will cause your fan to only work on high.

My Blower motor for my heater on a 99 ford escort is not working. Is it the motor or resister that is gone??the fuses look ok where is the resister located can you send a diagram

look in passenger foot well on blower case for 4 wire connector.

Behind right side of I/P, A/C-heater plenum

resister bad would still allow high speed. may be blower motor.

  • The blower motor does not operate/does not operate correctly
  • Open fuse.
  • Tripped circuit breaker.
  • Circuitry open/shorted.
  • Heater blower motor switch (18578).
  • Heater blower motor switch resistor (18591).
  • Blower motor relay.
  • Blower motor.

2006 silverado 5 speed heat, the high speed is not working. I do have the 4 lower speeds

The switch, high blower speed relay or the wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. The highest setting 5 has no resistor, so the blower runs on high but the high current flow ends up burning up the switch's contact on that setting or the relay and may be the resistor wire harness at the blower motor has gone bad. Common would be the switch it self, if the switch is good. Then it's going to be the blower relay or wire leads at the speed resistor by the blower motor under the glove box by the passenger leg compartment. Keep me posted, be glad to help you get your Silverado running 100% again soon.

Blower motor for heater only works on high....what do you think I need to change. Relay or Resistor.

If the heater only works on the high setting, your problem is the heater fan resistor, not the relay.

Heater fan only works on the high position?

There is a plug up under the glove box that loosens and you need to snug it up.

94 roadmaste heater moter wont blow, tested motor

if the motor does't work at all then it's probably the motor,if the resister is gone you should still have high,it does'nt go through the resister.you may have a bad ground to the resister, you may need a relay.
