1991 Honda Accord flasher clicks constantly. Replaced flasher but problem continue.

  • Anonymous Feb 17, 2010

All function i.e. turn lights work and emergency flasher works. I feel there is a close circuit somewhere, but I don't know how to check. The flasher
clicks constantly. Once turn signal is pulled the clicking is the same beat (click, click) as the constant clicking. Thanks.

I have the same problem. Signs point to the turn signal switch having a partial short (worn out). Going to junk yard this weekend to pull one off. I did replace the flasher, that only made things WORSE! Went from tolerable clicking to loud buzzing.

Honda accord fuses are good, bulbs are good. Flashers working but turn signals are not. Sounds like a fast blinker but not flashing

Check the earth to the offending light unit. Clean all the relevant connections. You could also try fitting a temporary earth cable and watch for any improvement. If you find that there is improvement in the operation of the indicator/flasher make the temporary earth cable permanent.

Signal lights stopped working

If the fuse is good and the flashers work then you have a bad signal flasher, this car uses two flashers in one located under the dash, one controls the hazard lights and the other the signals, these are all inside one flasher, so turn on the hazards to locate it by listening to clicking noise. i have inclosed a diagram to help locate it. its on leftside kick panel by your left foot, replace the flasher and see if that does it, good day12_6_2011_6_03_02_pm.gif

The clicking sound for the blinker is constanly going. When I use the signal it slows to a steady click but when the blinker is not in use it clicks rapidly.

have you tryed to replace your flasher? If you have then i would say you may have a short. thats what it sounds like

I constantly hear the blinker in the car but the lights will not come on inside or outside of the car.

The hazard/turn signal flasher is a small square relay located right above the integrated control unit on the interior fuse block behind the left kick panel. If the flasher unit is functioning properly, you can hear an audible clicking sound when it’s operating. If the turn signals fail on one side or the other and the flasher unit doesn’t make its characteristic clicking sound, look for a faulty turn signal bulb. If both signals fail to blink, the problem may be due to a blown fuse (in the engine compartment fuse box, far upper left as you are facing the auto), a faulty flasher unit, a broken switch or a loose or open connection. If a quick check of the fuse box indicates that the turn signal fuse has blown, and the same thing happens after you replace it, you should check the wiring for a short.
To replace the flasher, simply (may be easier said than done) pull it out of the fuse block.
Installation is the reverse of removal.
Hope this helps you.

1991 Honda Accord Starting/Ignition trouble

sounds like a bad battery or the battery cables are corroded where they hook up to the battery or loose. if it cranks for a couple seconds slow than clicks quickly there isnt enough voltage getting to the starter. not all new parts are good.
