SOURCE: IAC control valve. Locato\ion 2002 ford escape

If it's not idling and has problems starting, it's probably the IAC motor. It's located on the throttle body. Follow the airfilter box all the way to the engine, where the rubber flex hose attaches. The throttle body should be the first aluminum part you come to. Attached to the side you'll find small little aluminum part with a small wire harness attached. Unplug it, take the IAC motor off and clean inside with carb cleaner. This should fix the problem with the idle.

Where exactly is the iac valve located on a 04 ford explorer?

2004 and newer Ford Explorer's use throttle by wire with electronic throttle control. They don't have idle air control (IAC) valves.

Will not stay turned on the morning unless gas pedal is being pushed. I believe that it is the fuel filter but I do not know where it is located.

It is called the I.A.C Valve---very common Ford problem.. Easy problem to fix. Ask your local parts store for an IAC or Idle Control Valve. Remove the plastic cover on top of your engine. The IAC will be on the top of the intake and only has 2 bolts.(8mm) Part is around $80. 100% sure of this-I have replaced about 100 of them.

Where is the idle air controll valve on a 1997 expedition xlt 5.4

The IAC valve is located on the throttle body. Just in case you don't know, the throttle body is when the air duct tube from the air filter ends. Here is a link so you can see what the IAC looks like and know what you are looking for: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/catalog/parts/partsShelf.jsp?categoryDisplayName=Engine+Management&fromType=parts&fromString=search&parentId=cat30067&currentPage=1&filterByKeyWord=iac&isSearchByPartNumber=false&navValue=15900207&categoryNValue=15999999&fromWhere=&itemId=prod61721&displayName=Idle+Air+Control+Valve&searchText=iac It is held on by a couple of screws so it is very easy to change out. Good luck. Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

Idle air bypass vaule

The Idle air control valve (IAC) is on the back of the throttle body housing on the 4.6 V8, it's half the size of a can of Red Bull. Try tapping on it with a small hammer and if the truck clears up then it's time to replace the IAC.
You can clean it with Throttle body injector but that's just a quick fix for now. Good luck and hope this helps.
