Glow plug light in cab does not come on and small light in centre of instrument panel is no longer flashing

Check the relay for the glo plugs as it is not supplying power to the glo-plugs. Check that there is power getting to the relay. Check if a fuse is blown

Glow plugs do not work . has 12 volts at the controller on a 06 duramax

trace the wire back from the glo-plugs and you will come to the relay. Remove the glo-plugs and using short jump leads test across the battery terminals . Place one lead on the wire terminal and the body of the glo-plug on the negative terminal. If good it will heat up immediately . If burnt you will see it.

Golf 2006 19 tdi the heating plug light has just started flashing on dashbord can this damage vehicle if driven

The heating plug light is indicating current flowing to the Glo-plugs and if flashing indicates a ready to use situation or a relay fault. I would have it check out ASAP as it may burn out the GLo-plugs if it is on all the time.
