The sensor can be faulty. It's about £25 to replace, or you can just disconnect it IIRC. Defender TD5's don't have it fitted!

How to disconnect warning light on bottom of fuel filter on coaster diesel 1991..?

The electronic switch on the top of the fuel filter housing is the fuel filter warning switch.
To reset the warning light on the cluster you need to do this:
1. With the ignition switch off, disconnect the fuel filter warning switch connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch from off to ON.
3. After more than 3 seconds but less than 60 seconds have elapsed, reconnect the connector.
4. After approximately 3 seconds have elapsed with the fuel filter warning switch closed, the
system confirms the deletion of the illumination information by turning off* the warning light.

MITSUBISHI SHOGUN Mk II (V2_W, V4_W) 3.0 V6 24V (V43W, V23W) (177HP) i keep getting a orange warning light looks like a tank with wave water lines on it can anyone help me to resolve this to get the l

by the sounds of it sounds like one of 2 lights that light up, the one is indicating that the coolant level is low so this would need checking, if its not low then it may be the next problem im going to tell you about, is the wavey water picture above a tank or below, if the wavey part is above the tank on the warning light then its coolant level, if the coolant level is ok then chances are either the sensor is faulty of the connections are faulty, the level sensor is located in the lid of the coolant filler cap so unplug the connector and plug back in and see if that makes any difference, if not then the sensor needs replacing,

now if the wavey water symbol is below an object on the warning light then this is telling us that the fuel filter has sensed their is water setting in the filter, now this only happens with diesels and usually its a faulty sensor and not that their is water in the fuel, if it is the fuel warning light then most of the time it cant be fixed unless the sensor is changed but even then its no guarantee it will put the light out,

I have a 2006 c5500 and the water light came on. Is it as easy as draining the fuel filter? and should I drain the fuel and change the filter?

Hi there,

It's important to understand that a "Water" warning light, does not relate to fuel.

If it is indeed a 'water' warning light, then it is likely to be either:

1) windscreen washer bottle water is low, or
2) engine coolant fluid is low (check the level of your coolant resevoir bottle)

If your coolant is low, then you should investigate why you are losing coolant fluid.

I own a 2008 dodge ram diesel 6.7 has a lightning symbol in the middle of this ) ( and a check gauges message when this comes on.

The indicator you see is call a water in fuel warning lamp. ==== This a very important warning and you will need to take corrective action ASAP. ==== As a diesel owner, you need to know diesel fuel can attract moisture. When condensation (water droplets) collect inside the fuel tank,it will contaminate the diesel. ==== The corrective action is to locate the drain **** on the fuel filter and CAREFULLY drain the water from the bottom of the filter housing. (with engine off / key out) ==== The water in fuel warning light will go off as soon as the water is drained. ==== Use one bottle of RED Iso-Heet to remove any additional water inside the fuel tank.mustgo_54.jpg

I have a Saab 9-3 TDi 2001. The engine warning

Hi
If your engine warning light has come on this is indicating there in a serious problem and the limp mode has been switched on to safe guard the engine. It could be a number things, but I'll give you some basic things to look at which may help you.
  1. Check all fluids are are the correct levels - engine oil, radiator water level in overflow tank usual beside the radiator.
  2. Also check transmission fluid level if it is an automatic, from the dipstick.
If all these are ok then check these areas:
  1. Air Filter and housing has no blockage.
  2. Fuel filter may need replacing or water separator is filled with water, loosen valve at the bottom of fuel filter and drain the excess water. Fuel should not come out just water if there is any.
If all these are ok then there is a problem regarding sensor faults, fuel pump timing, and further in depth diagnosis will be needed. Hope this is helpful, let me know how you get on.
