If the light is staying on then you are either low on brake fluid or the park brake has not fully released. It should go out when the key is off,let me know if this is not the case.

My airbag warning light is permanantly on

Cluster warning lights

Whenever this warning light or any other stays on in the dash it is indicating that the systems control module (or the system sensor in the case of lights like low oil pressure, door open indicators etc.) has detected a fault, it then disables the system (this applies to ABS,TCS, TCM, SRS, TPMS, MIL, CEL and BCM faults and others) as long as the light is on. You must now have the dealer hook up a special electronic diagnostic tool and "scan" the system for the fault code that is stored for the problem(s)

Legend of Abbreviations. ABS Anti-lock brake system. TCS Traction control system, TCM Transmission control module, SRS Supplemental restraint system, BCM Body control module. TPMS Tire Pressure Monitor System, MIL Malfunction Indicator Lamp, CEL Check Engine Light.

Abslight stays on no brake lights

Fuse 12 (10 Amps) may be burned out. Its located in "Junction Block". Losing
fuse 12 would kill the ABS systems and light the ABS dashboard light.

Fuse 11 (20 Amps) may be out. Its located in "Power Distribution Center". Losing fuse 11
would kill the brake lights, and light the ABS dashboard light. If fuse 11 is blown,
check your (3) brake light sockets for shorts of any type, or fuse 11 will just blow again.

Here's your ABS Indicator Light wiring diagram:

My abs and handbrake light stay on every two days and off after in my honda civic 1500cc yr 2004.its a five door civic

This indicates you have an issue with your ABS control unit. ABS is a system that "pumps" the brakes in rapid succession to prevent wheel lockup during an emergency start. A common cause of sliding in wet weather, etc. To do this a computer control module uses plungers to open and close the brake fluid flow to the brake in miliseconds..so while you are pressing on brake pedal hard... the system is actually applying and releasing the brake in rapid succession (miliseconds) to prevent skid, etc. When teh computer module goes bad the ABS and Parking brake light will stay illuminated. There shoudl be an ABS fuse in your vehicle (please refer to your manual) that can be removed. Remove this fuse and check it for dirt, blown, cracks, or corosion. Replace the fuse and listen with the motor off if you hear a hum noise this would indicate the motor is running continuously for the brakes and is another indicator of a bad control. With the fuse removed both lights should stay continuously lit. If the motor is running continuously this can blow the ABS motor.. your brake system will still function with the fuse removed, but test it with a slow roll (no gas hand pushed car) The ABS controller is quite pricey to replace in the vehicle and should be referred to a licensed facility such as a dealer. YES dealers are high but to have this job done properly you need to have the vehicle raised on a platform. Your local brake shop, muffler shop, shadetree wont be able to do this control repair properly.

2000 VW Jetta E-Brake Light indicator beeps when brake is off

I fixed mine!! First check your ebrake switch by starting your vw and putting the ebrake on. If your daytime running lights stay on when the ebrake is engaged, its NOT the switch. Stay with me here. Turn vw off and pull fuse number 5. Mine was blown, but the legend only shows a pic of a book with an exclamation point. Meaning the book will tell you what it is, BUT IT DOESN'T . I replaced the 7.5 amp fuse and voila, victory. If it is not number 5, pull every fuse one at a time and inspect them closely. Do not assume, check each one. That is how I found mine after I bought and replaced the $10 switch. Running lights stay on because the switch is not being acknowledged, not because it is bad. I searched every forum I could find on this and there were no answers to this problem anywhere. So I am posting so there is an answer out there. What put me on the right track was the running lights staying on when the ebrake was engaged after I put in the new switch.

Breaklights

1st get autozone to clear the code, (free) The only thing I can think of that goes out when car is off and on when lights turn on is the parking lights on the side, the wires could be touching in the conduit, start car and pull brake fuse out, if the lights stay on you have a short, if only the park lights stay on (double filiment) look at the lighting system, but if the brake and driving light stay on, sounds like an ecu problem.
