Something mechanical, ignition, or fuel.
It can run rough under a load such as in gear and ok in neutral with no load. Have you checked the plugs and dist cap ?
happy new year.
scan the car. obd2 scanner.
the PRNDL switch is dead.
check all fuses first.
check for car battery reading below 12v. (any voltmeter ever made works)
The neutral switch is so that you can't start your vehicle in a gear (drive, reverse, ect.) your looking to replace the backup lamp switch. Not sure where its located on your jeep but that sounds like the problem. Happy hunting!
shift from 2wh to 4hi to neutral then 4lo all while in drive and moving slowly. The owners manual and repair books say you can actually damage the transfercase if the jeep is parked. You can go into 4hi at any driving speed, just not too fast!
Likely the shift detent mechanism is broken. It's inside the unit and can be reached by removing the trans pan. It should be just inside where the shift lever goes through the case.
