Need a radio code for 2001 mitsubishi montero

There are only three ways to get the code. I wrote this tip with all three.

with your number one through four punch in your four digit number and push cd button it should come on mine donre the same thing till i figured it out

Dealership will have this if you supply your radio serial number and model number and vin of your car.

you can get your radio codes from the net just need serial no and radio type small fee charged but some are free look up radio codes

You will need to get the serial number from the sticker on the case of the radio, requiring removing the radio.

You can call Mitsubishi or a dealer with the serial number and they will provide an unlock code.

You can also post the serial number in a new question on FixYa, and myself or another Mitsubishi employee can get the code for you.

Well any place that services Mitsubishi's can give you the code, like your local Mitsubishi dealership.. but in order to give you the unlock code - you need to give them the serial number off the back of your radio.

Yeah I know. When I spoke to my Mitsubishi dealership's service department they told me that i I brought the car in they would charge me for a half hour of labor (so 1/2 of $75) to find the serial number and do it for me. Then I could write down the code on the owners manual for next time.

Apparently the Mitsubishi software that the dealers have, has a little wizard where they plug in the radio serial number, and the software spits out the unlock code. They said they would give me my code over the phone for free, if I had a means to get my own serial number.

Call your local MItsubishi dealership and ask for the service department.
<BR>They have a computer program where they punch in the serial number from your radio (you have to supply the number) and it will tell them the UNLOCK CODE for your radio. My dealership offered to give it to me free over the phone, if I knew my radio serial number. Enter the code using the buttons on your radio. And write the code down, this will show up everytime your radio looses connection to its power source - the car battery.

Pull out the radio far enough to see the serial number and model number. Take that and the registration to the dealer who will give you the code you need.
