WHERE DO U PUT GEAR OIL ON A 1997 BMW 528I - 2008 BMW 528i Sedan

In the trunk???? What is telling you to put gear oil in your car?? Is the rear end grinding? Manual transmission winding? Front wheel drive? Most gear oil goes in the rear end, It should have 2 plugs, one to fill with and one for the level, also a drain plug, sometimes. And most cars never see a drop of oil in their lives. If I was going to change my gear oil, I would buy the slick 50 stuff. Worth the extra $.

If you are referring to the rear end there are two Allen head plugs one right at the rear just above the bolts this is the fill plug and to the right and lower this is the drain plug. and if you are referring to Manual Trans there are two like bolt head plugs one directly on the bottom near the rear is the drain and 3 inches forward on the passenger side up 3 inches is the other which is the fill. it just needs filled until it runs out the top fill hole about 1.9 liters fluid type is MTF LT1

SOURCE: My 1997 BMW 528I transmission lights will not

you have a GM 4l30e transmission. sealed. replace the filter and fluid.

could be a solenoid problem as well, but go for the filter and fluid 1st.

1997 528i drives only in low gear

I would have a transmission shop diagnosis. If it isn't shifting out of first, then you most likely have a fault in the transmission electronics.

Would like to put the original CD changer/player

To put the original back in just hope the harness behind the radio wasant cut into. If its not it should just plug right in and mount back up in the stock location.

as far as the cd changer. if you would want to add one. you would need to find the changer, harness and headunit from a model with one.
