The bulb should unscrew (1/4 turn counterclockwise) from the back of the lens. if you cant get to the back of the lens then there should be tabs made of sheet metal (1 inch wide) that you can pull up (probably 2 on each headlight) and the lamp will pull out of the front of the car so you can reach the bulbs that way.

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: replace headlight bulb

Actually there are two little black tabs on top of each headlight housing and you simply have to pull them up to release the whole headlamp.

Then follow the rest of emissionwiz's solution.

How do i remove the head light on a 2008 chevy Malibu

Headlights grow dimmer by up to 20% over time and eventually burn out - for this reason, we recommend changing your headlights in pairs. Changing both headlight bulbs on your Malibu at the same time will allow both bulbs to have the same intensity and prevent the new headlight bulb from appearing brighter than the bulb on the opposite side. In some Chevrolets, the highbeam is the same bulb as the headlight and it is possible for the highbeam to work, but the headlight be burnt out even if they are the same bulb (and vise versa). Some Chevrolets have high intensity discharge headlights, sometimes referred to as xenon lights. These bulbs have a very high voltage that runs through them, even if the battery is disconnected. If your Malibu has this type of bulb, we do not recommend that you attempt to change it yourself.

When you change the headlight on your Malibu, it is important to not touch the glass part of the bulb with your fingers because the oil from your fingertips will cause that part of the bulb to burn hotter, which significantly shortens the life of the bulb.

Hope this helps! :)

My car 2003 altima I need change light bulb. need know how to remove head light to change the bulb.

You don't have to remove the headlight to change the bulb. The bulb can be removed from the back of the headlight, usually by turning the bezel ring that holds the bulb onto the headlight housing. Just make sure you do not touch the glass part of the bulb while replacing it or it will burn out again fast.

How do i change the front head light

Not much room in this model to change a headlight bulb for I owned one. The plastic covering ablove the headlights need to be removed. They will pull upward out of the way. If its below 60 degrees the snaps holding the cover in may snap off but they are still functional if they break off. Now you can see the headlight bulb sockets in the headlamp assembly. Have heavy gloves on to eliminate cuts and abraisions. The sockets simply twist out. Replace the bulbs without any skin contact for the oils from our skin tend to burn out these bulbs instantly

Change headlight on 2008 Chevy Malibu

Hi there,

Well first you can please follow the below steps -
1. Make sure the ignition key is in the off position and the headlight switch is off. Release the hood latch.
2. Open the hood and locate the top of the headlight assembly where you intend to change the headlight. If a plastic shroud is present, locate the center bolt and remove it with a ratchet and a socket. Lift the shroud out of the way to access the headlight assembly retaining brackets. Some later models may feature a snap-release shroud requiring no tools to remove.
3. Locate the brackets on the top rear of each side of the headlight assembly. Lift them all the way up to align the hole on the bottom of each bracket to the retaining tabs on the assembly.
4. Pull the assembly forward away from the Malibu, but be careful not to scratch the bumper. There are three guide pins that require unseating. The guide pins are what aim the headlights and it may take some wiggling to get the pins from their seats.
5. Support the assembly with one hand and then reach behind the unit with the other. The low beam bulb is on the outside, the high beam bulb is on the inside. You can also replace the parking light if desired. Locate the wire harness connection. Un-clip the wire harness from the back of the bulb socket. Remove the bulb by turning it counterclockwise 1/3 of a turn to align the release tabs of the ring and the assembly. Wiggle the bulb out of the assembly.
6. Place the latex gloves on your hands before opening the package of the replacement bulb. Oil in our skin can damage the glass bulbs of halogen headlights.
7. Carefully insert the new bulb into the ring and then align the tabs of the ring to the tabs of the headlight assembly. Push inward and then twist clockwise 1/3 of a turn to lock the bulb in place. Reattach the wire harness. Rest the headlight assembly inside its cavity and test the operation of the headlight before securing the headlight assembly in place. Be sure to turn the lights and ignition back off.
8. Align the three guide pins to their seats and push the assembly back into them gently until they snap into place. Replace the retaining brackets by pushing them downward to lock into place. Replace shroud, if applicable. Remove the tools and old bulb and close the hood. Post comments for further help or information......

Good Luck!!
