Its located on the left side of the engine, (passenger side). Take the timing chain cover off, look for a wire just in front of two pullies, closest to you. One maybe two bolts, its probably caked with metal debri, being that it's a magnet which reads gaps in a thin disk. This gap tells the engine when to fire whatever cylinder. My sensor went bad after 3 days from purchasing the vehicle from a dealership, they wouldn't help me since there was no warranty. Pos. Some of these are hard to locate (I don't know your engine) but parts stores have component location charts. On some engines you have to look down through the intake manifold runners to see it, and reaching it to replace can require laying on top of the engine with your hands working blind. Others can be accessed from underneath.

An automotive shop pulled up the car and said their was a fuse box with a lot of relays in it on the passenger compartment .... 2004 XG350L .... Same thing happened to me, 2002 XG350, sunroof, blower, vanity light all out.
